摘要： The work involved in replacing the fixing lamps in a printer is made easy, and the non-operational period of the printer associated with such maintenance work is shortened. A portion of a fixing lamp is formed in a lamp cartridge which includes a first lamp holder for holding one end of the fixing lamp; a second lamp holder for holding the other end of the fixing lamp; and a protective member holding portion for holding a lamp protective member which is attached depending on necessity. The protective member holding portion is arranged around a region where the lamp holding member is placed, and, thereby, all of the plurality of fixing lamps are capable of being attached to and removed from the heating roller as a unit from one end of the heating roller.

摘要： In a fixing device of an image forming apparatus, at least one roller of a pair of rollers (14, 15) that come into pressure contact with each other is regulated so that outer diameter of the roller is 80 to 120 mm and total length of the roller (length in the axial direction) is 470 to 600 mm, and the roller is driven and rotated at the number of revolutions of 60 to 300 rpm by fitting a key groove (14c) formed at an end of the roller to a drive key (27a) provided for a drive force-transmitting shaft. Further, average thickness of core metal material (14a) of the fixing roller is regulated so that the moment of inertia in a direction of a rotational shaft of the fixing roller is 70 Kg·cm2 and less.

摘要： In a fixing apparatus for an electrophotographic apparatus which comprises a suction apparatus (14) for attracting a rear surface of recording material (6) which continues longitudinally and holds a toner image on a major surface thereof, a preheater (10) for preheating the recording material while adhering the recording material to the preheater by attracting force of the suction apparatus, and a pair of fixing rollers (11) formed by a heat roller and a pressure roller urged to each other, wherein the recording material is sandwiched and carried while being heated and pressurized by the heat roller and the pressure roller at a pressing portion therebetween thereby to fix the toner image on the major surface of the recording material, the fixing apparatus further comprises a recording material lifting apparatus (15) having a projection member (15a) movable relative to the surface of the preheater.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a feed roller mechanism disposed downstream of a transfer corotron 412 constituting a transfer section and composed of driven rollers 506 located on both edges of a continuous recording medium 100 which are outside an image transfer area and a drive roller 508 extending over the whole width of the continuous recording medium 100, so that when transferring a toner image from an image recording member 402, on which the toner image is to be formed, to the continuous recording medium 100, friction by the rollers achieves reliable conveyance against an attraction between the image recording member 402 and the continuous recording medium 100 without disturbing an unfixed image on the continuous recording medium 100. The image forming apparatus further includes a line sensor 43 for detecting a position where a reference edge of the recording medium is present, a line sensor output device which judges a position of the recording medium reference edge in cooperation with the line sensor to send a recording medium reference edge position signal or mask 61 adjustable in position for shielding a portion of a detection window of the line sensor, a recording medium position correction device 11 which finds a recording medium position correction value from an output of the line sensor for carrying out feedback control, and a guide 38 for preventing rising of the recording medium.
