摘要： The present invention relates to a dispenser for laundry additives comprising a base and a reservoir separated by an insert. The present invention further relates to a method of dispensing a laundry additive in an automatic washing machine comprising mounting a dispenser having a base and a reservoir within the automatic washing machine; adding the laundry additive to the reservoir; positioning an insert to seal the laundry additive within the reservoir; actuating the insert with centrifugal force in order to open the reservoir; releasing the laundry additive from the reservoir onto the base; and dispersing the laundry additive from the base within the automatic washing machine.

摘要： Provided is a method of laundering fabrics in an automatic washing machine having a drum, wherein the automatic washing machine is operated so as to cause it to run through at least one wash cycle and at least one rinse cycle, which method comprises: during the at least one wash cycle forming in the drum an aqueous washing liquor containing a detersive surfactant component and a detergent builder component, the aqueous wash liquor having pH above about 7; contacting fabrics to be laundered with the aqueous wash liquor in the drum; during the rinse cycle, forming in the drum an aqueous rinse liquor and contacting the fabrics with the rinse liquor; and adding to the rinse liquor sufficient acid source to bring the pH of the rinse liquor into the range of from about 4 to about 7.

The laundry additive article may comprise additional components including a dye transfer inhibitor and a signal to visually indicate that fugitive dyes have been scavenged.

摘要： This invention discloses a substantially flat mechanically expandable pad, i.e., one positioned almost exclusively in the x-y plane, having a expandable member therein that once activated expands the mechanically expandable pad out of the x-y plane and into the z-direction. Such activation occurs when cinch members are used to contract the expandable member in the x or y-directions but cause its expansion in the z-direction. The pad is useful for cleaning, polishing, buffing, etc. and the expandable member has application in other types of absorbent articles.

摘要： A method for manufacturing a laundry additive article wherein a polymerizable or crosslinkable dye or particulate soil absorber is applied to one face of a substrate web and a cross-linker is separately applied to the coating of the dye or particulate soil absorber to cross-link the dye or particulate soil absorber on the substrate such that the dye or particulate soil absorber does not dissolve in the wash water. In accordance with one embodiment, the dye or particulate soil absorber and the cross-linker are applied as aqueous based solutions. Other laundry additives may be applied to the substrate using other coating techniques and particularly as a waxy or hot melt composition.
