摘要： A method and system is disclosed for managing resource within a predetermined soft handoff group in an OFDM based telecommunications system. Logical radio resources are separated into at least one set to support the soft handoff group and at least one set for supporting normal communication traffic. At least one physical radio resource is identified for each logical radio resource in the set for supporting the SHOG according to a predetermined mapping function so as to minimize resource collision.

摘要： Sharing radio resources between multiple types of users is disclosed that form user groups including first type users and second type users. A plurality of resource blocks is assigned to the user group after which, a group setup message is transmitted to each user in the user group. This group setup message includes group parameters and identification of the resource blocks. A group grant message is also issued to each user in the user group, which provides group information allowing the resource blocks to be shared between the first and second user types.

摘要： According to an embodiment, the present invention provides a method for providing resource allocation in a wireless communication network. The method includes providing an access provider that is configured to perform orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). The access provider is configured to allocate transmission resources. The method also includes providing a first plurality of terminals that are wirelessly connected to the access provider. The method further includes assigning the first plurality of terminals to a first scheduling group that is associated with a first plurality of resources. The first plurality of resources includes at least a first resource. The method additionally includes providing a second plurality of terminals that are wirelessly connected to the access provider. The method further includes assigning the second plurality of terminals to a second scheduling group that is associated with a second plurality of resources.

A method for transmitter operations includes transmitting a pilot signal, receiving channel information feedback from a set of K communications devices served by a transmitter, where K is a non-negative integer value and K≧2, selecting M communications devices out of the set of K communications devices, where M is a non-negative integer value and M≦K, computing a precoder for each of the M selected communications devices based on the channel information feedback, and simultaneously transmitting information to the M selected communications devices. The channel information feedback includes partial information for a communications channel between the transmitter and a communications device, the selecting being based on the channel information feedback, and the information transmitted to each communications device in the M selected communications devices being precoded using a computed precoder associated with the communications device.

The method also includes setting a transmit power level for transmission to the DMC device according to the first pathloss and the second pathloss, and transmitting a signal to the DMC device at the transmit power level.
