    摘要: A tandem type color image forming apparatus has a plurality of image forming units. These units includes at least a plurality of spaced photosensitive drums, and a plurality of developing rollers for developing with toners electrostatic latent images formed on these photosensitive drums. The image forming units except the image forming unit for black color that may be highly frequently used are accommodated in the same first housing. The unit for black color is accommodated in another second housing. The first and second housings are made to be attachable to and detachable from the chassis of the apparatus main body independently of each other. Only an image forming unit with high frequency of inspection or maintenance can separately be detached, so that the work load for inspection or maintenance is reduced, and handling of the apparatus is easy.

    摘要: An image developing apparatus has a photosensitive body, an image-developing roller, a toner feeding roller, a housing cassette, whereon the image-developing roller and the feeding roller are mounted, for storing the toner, a plate-like blade mounted on the housing cassette, a sheet member for preventing the toner from leaking, and toner sealing devices made of a resilient material for preventing the toner from leaking. The sheet member is displaced between a development area of the developing roller and a position of the pressed contact between the developing roller and the feeding roller. The sheet member maintains a uniformly contact along a longitudinal direction of the developing roller. The toner sealing devices are either mounted integrally to, or formed integrally with the blade as one unit, and provided at both ends of the blade. A space is provided between the toner sealing devices and the housing cassette. The structure of this invention realizes prevention of the toner from leaking in the image developing apparatus, since it effectively fills a space between the blade and the developing roller. Furthermore, the structure also improves productivity and reduces working processes, since it makes adhesion of the toner sealing devices unnecessary in manufacturing the image-developing apparatus.

    摘要: A developing device includes a unit support member attached to an opening formed in a front panel of image forming apparatus, support for supporting the unit between the unit support member and a rear panel of the apparatus with the unit pivotable about an axis parallel to the rotation axis of the photoreceptor, and a guide mechanism for guiding a casing of the unit, whereby when the unit is set in the apparatus, a developing sleeve is put in a first state in which the sleeve is near the photoreceptor, and when the unit is inserted in and drawn out of the apparatus, the sleeve is put in a second state in which the sleeve is spaced apart from the photoreceptor. Also when the unit is set in the apparatus, the sleeve is changed from the first state to the second state and vice versa. Accordingly, the unit is replaced through the front panel of the apparatus with ease, and there is eliminated the necessity to provide an excessive space for inserting and drawing the unit in the apparatus, while preventing the developer from unnecessarily coming into contact with the photoreceptor in the non-developing stages, whereby monocolor developing is assuredly performed.

    摘要: An image formation apparatus comprises photosensitive drums for respectively forming toner images corresponding to specified colors of an original image, an intermediate transfer belt onto which the toner images are transferred from the photosensitive drums in superimposed relation to form a synthetic toner image, and transfer rollers each for pressing the intermediate transfer belt against the associated photosensitive drum. The photosensitive drum disposed more upstream in a direction of conveyance of the intermediate transfer belt has a lower speed. The intermediate transfer belt may be designed to move at a speed higher than those of the photosensitive drums. With this construction, a sag or dip of the intermediate transfer belt between any two adjacent photosensitive drums is eliminated, thereby preventing a color drift of the synthetic toner image.
