    摘要: An assembly for magnetically dynamic damping useful for isolating vibrational forces includes a housing wall bounding a main chamber therein. The assembly further includes a fixed magnetic source disposed in the main chamber. A diaphragm of elastic material is disposed in the assembly impermeably dividing the main chamber into sub-chambers. The diaphragm includes a magnetically actuated element adjacent to the fixed magnetic source. A source of electrical current energizes the magnetically actuated element, the fixed magnetic source, or both and either repels or pulls the magnetically actuated element with respect to the fixed magnetic source. A magnetic guide surrounds the fixed magnetic source and defines a gap exposing the fixed magnetic source to the magnetically actuated element. The magnetic guide routes the magnetic field towards the gap and prevents outward magnetic interference to the rest of the assembly.

A first piston assembly is slideably disposed in the main tube and axially divides the main tube into a rebound chamber and a primary compression chamber. A hydraulic compression stop assembly is disposed in the primary compression chamber and includes a narrowed section extending between an open end and a closed end. A second piston assembly is slideably disposed in the narrowed section and is coupled with the first piston assembly. The second piston assembly has a piston tube that extends between an opened end and a shut end. A displaceable partition is slideably disposed in the piston tube. A first auxiliary compression chamber is defined between the partition and the closed end of the narrowed section. A second auxiliary compression chamber is defined between the partition and the shut end of the piston tube.

    摘要: Disclosed is a motor vehicle twin-tube damper comprising: a tube filled with a working liquid, a piston assembly disposed slidably inside the tube divides the tube into a rebound chamber and a compression chamber. A compensation chamber is located outside of the tube. A base valve assembly including a rebound valve assembly and a compression valve assembly controls the flow of the working liquid between the compensation chamber and the compression chamber. The rebound valve assembly includes a number of rebound flow channels covered by a main deflective disc. To suppress vibrations generated by the deflective disc due to pressure fluctuations occurring during rapid changes of the damper stroke direction, the rebound valve assembly includes an additional deflective disc disposed over the main deflective disc and separated from it by an annular gap with a thickness (G) that is less than the thickness of the main deflective disc.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a hydraulic damper for a motor vehicle, comprising a tube with a slidably piston assembly attached to an end of a piston rod that is led outside the tube through a rod guide. A protective cap surrounds a portion of the tube. A partially axially elastic protective tube is attached to the cap and surrounds it and the piston rod. The cap is a unitary plastic component and has an annular flange provided with locking means attaching it to the protective tube. The cap has a plurality of spaced axial ribs separated by axial slots and joining a cylindrical section of the cap with the flange. A plurality of auxiliary ribs join the axial ribs and the annular area of the axial slots is larger than the total annular area of the axial ribs and the auxiliary ribs combined.

    摘要: A control system for an active powertrain mount includes a control signal which is based on the input velocity of the chassis at the active powertrain mount. The control signal may be proportional to the input velocity or to the mount velocity, which is the difference between the input velocity of the chassis at the active powertrain mount and the output velocity of the powertrain component at the active powertrain mount. The input velocity of the chassis at the active powertrain mount may be determined by a controller based on the CG heave and the roll and pitch velocities of the chassis. The output velocity of the powertrain component at the active powertrain mount is determined by the controller by integrating an acceleration signal from a component accelerometer disposed on the powertrain component proximate to the active powertrain mount. Corresponding methods for controlling an active powertrain mount are also provided.

The valve body (52) moves into sealing engagement with the retainer (46) in response to the bumper (68) engaging the guide (40). This causes the damping fluid (32) to move exclusively through the valve body (52) providing additional damping force.

    摘要: The invention provides for a brake pad apparatus for connecting to a brake assembly of a motor vehicle. The brake pad apparatus includes a backing plate that extends along a first plane and has an inside surface and an outside surface. A liner is connected to the inside surface of the backing plate for contacting the rotor for creating a frictional force against the rotor to slow the motor vehicle. An insulating layer is connected to the outside surface of the backing plate for providing heat and noise insulation during contact of the liner against the rotor. At least one projection extends from the outside surface of the backing plate through the insulating layer, and past the insulating layer for being engaged by a pressing member of the brake assembly for compressing the liner against the rotor of the brake assembly.

    摘要: In shock absorber system 10, solenoid 18 varies the damping force by changing the position of spring seat 24, and the effective preload force, at the same time. In the normal, de-energized condition (with no current), damping forces are generated by the piston valve 30 including piston 20. The actuated valve spring 16 is relaxed and set in such a way that it applies only a minimum preload force to the rebound-side disc stack 28. The motion of the plunger 14, pin 32 and movable spring seat 24 assembly changes the spring force by varying the distance between the movable spring seat 24 and the stationary spring seat 22. In the energized state, applying current to coil 12 generates a pulling force on the plunger 14 in the direction of the core element 34 to attract plunger 14 towards the core 34 and across the initial gap 36 until it is in a direct contact with the core's surface 38. Maintaining plunger 14 at this position requires applying a continuous constant holding current to coil 12 so that the position of the plunger is preserved (and the high preload force at the same time). When current is no longer applied to the coil 12, then the pulling force is no longer generated, and the plunger assembly returns back to the original (soft) position due to the reverse action of the valve spring 16.

    摘要: A cup shaped spring retainer is slidably disposed within a cup shaped piston, encapsulating a spring therebetween. The side wall of the spring retainer presents a plurality of recesses and a plurality of slots defining a plurality of fingers. A tang, projects radially outward at the distal end of each of the fingers to engage a retaining ring within the piston in a latch position. The combination of the spring retainer and the piston provide an arrangement whereby all of the fingers may be compressed with the spring retainer outside of the piston to an insert position with the tangs disposed in gripping engagement with the spring. After inserting the compressed spring retainer into the piston, the radial compression the of the fingers may be released to allow the fingers to expand from the insert position to the latch position at which point the deflection of the fingers is discontinued.
