Abstract: A suspension system including four dampers each having a compression chamber and a rebound chamber. First and second hydraulic circuits interconnect the compression and rebound chambers of the front dampers, while third and fourth hydraulic circuits interconnect the compression and rebound chambers of the back dampers. A first longitudinal hydraulic line extends between and connects the first and third hydraulic circuits and a second longitudinal hydraulic line extends between and connects the second and fourth hydraulic circuits. A single bi-directional pump is connected in-line with a fluid distribution line that extends between and connects the first and second longitudinal hydraulic lines a can pump fluid in opposite directions through the fluid distribution line to provide active roll stiffness.

Abstract: This shock absorber includes a piston main body and a piston band. The piston main body has, at an outer peripheral portion thereof, a stepped portion including a large-diameter surface portion, a stepped surface portion and a small-diameter surface portion. The piston band has, at an outer peripheral portion thereof, a large diameter portion, a medium diameter portion formed so as to have a smaller diameter than the large diameter portion, and a small diameter portion formed between the large diameter portion and the medium diameter portion so as to have a smaller diameter than the medium diameter portion, in a state before being disposed in a cylinder. At one end on the side close to a tip portion of a piston rod, an inner peripheral surface is inclined toward the piston main body side from the large-diameter surface portion to a small-diameter surface portion of the stepped portion.

Abstract: A damping system of an active chassis for one wheel of a motor vehicle. The system includes a double-acting hydraulic cylinder and a damper having a piston, which damper is couplable to a wheel suspension system for the wheel. The system also includes a hydraulic pump, and a hydraulic unit having a hydraulic reservoir and valves. The hydraulic pump and the hydraulic unit cooperate with hydraulic chambers of the hydraulic cylinder such that, depending on the direction of conveyance of the hydraulic pump, a movement of the piston in a first direction of actuation or in a second direction of actuation can be provided. The damper includes the hydraulic cylinder and the piston is designed such that, in the region of the damper, a flow of hydraulic oil via the piston or along the piston of the damper is at most 3 L/min.

Abstract: A damper for use with an automotive coil over shock absorber. An outer damping sleeve is retained over the exterior surface of an inner body and includes a plurality of bypass ports to alternately align and unalign with bypass ports of the inner body to regulate a bypass flow of damping oil between an interior volume and an outer passage, thereby allowing variable damping control of the damper. The outer damping sleeve is connected to an internal floating piston (IFP) which rides inside the inner body. A control spring is retained for applying a force to the IFP to limit the free movement of the IFP and thereby control a damping force of the damper during the damping event. Increased pressure in the hydraulic damping oil causes the IFP to move, causing the bypass ports to open and close depending on the forces subject to the damper.

Abstract: A mounting eye (21) is fastened to a rod by pushing, partially or over an entire periphery, an outer periphery of a joint portion of a mounting eye into an annular groove of the rod. Accordingly, an axial length of a fastening portion can be set shorter than that of a related-art structure (screw fastening), thereby being capable of securing a stroke of the rod of a shock absorber in which the mounting eye is fastened to the rod.

Abstract: A solenoid valve that can be adjusted axially, and hermetically, to a first end of a body of a shock absorber in order to be able to regulate the hydraulic load of the shock absorber as well as guide the movement of the rod in a longitudinal direction. The solenoid valve includes a movable part that can be moved between an open fluid flow position and another closed fluid flow position, a regulating chamber that generates a pressure to move said movable part towards the opening and an elastic element that generates a closing force. Likewise, the solenoid valve also includes electronic means to exert a force on the movable part, to move it in the direction of movement, preferably by means of a magnetic load. The invention also includes a shock absorber with hydraulic load regulation that comprises a solenoid valve, like the one mentioned, adjusted hermetically to a first end of the body of said shock absorber.

Abstract: A shock absorber includes: a cylinder; a piston slidably inserted into the cylinder; a piston rod connected to the piston and extending outside the cylinder; a main valve that generates a damping force; a pilot chamber that applies pressure to the main valve; an introduction passage that introduces the fluid into the pilot chamber; a pilot passage that communicates the pilot chamber and a downstream side of the main valve with each other; and a control valve provided in the pilot passage. In an upstream side of the pilot passage from the control valve, the pilot passage is provided with a first orifice, a first passage provided in parallel with the first orifice, a first check valve that is opened at a predetermined differential pressure and allows a flow toward the control valve through the first passage, and a second orifice.
