    摘要: Embodiments of the present invention provide processes for preparing thymus extracts and plant or fungal extracts, and more particularly provide compositions (Thyex-1-6A and -6B) produced in accordance with said processes, and methods for treatment of various conditions comprising administration of said compositions including but not limited to impaired physical vigor or aptitude, and aging and/or age-related conditions (arthritis, mobility deficits, loss of appetite, etc.). Additional aspects provide methods for building muscle mass, for reducing exercise recovery period, or for sustaining exercise intensity. Particular aspects relate to preparation of Houttuynia cordata extracts and the use of those extracts as an anti-emetic and/or anti-nausea treatment for a subject in need thereof.

    摘要: The subject invention pertains to tumor cell lines useful for increasing the proliferation potential of any human or animal cell in culture, thereby providing immortalized or continuous cell lines and cultures. The invention also concerns proliferation factors, and compositions containing the factors, which are capable of increasing the proliferation potential of any human or other animal cell in culture. The subject invention further pertains to a method for proliferating cells in culture by containing cells with the proliferation factors. The proliferated cells can range in plasticity and can include, for example, blast cells, fertilized ova, non-fertilized gametes, embryonic stem cells, adult stem cells, precursor or progenitor cells, and highly specialized cells. Optionally, the cells can be induced to cease proliferation. The proliferated cells of the subject invention are useful for cell therapy, cell/gene therapy, biological production of molecules, and as in vitro models for research, toxicity testing, and drug development.

    摘要: The present invention provides a CTLA-4 non-blocking agent of a complete human antibody nature, thus is non-immunogenic in a human. The immunoassay method using such a non-blocking agent measures the CTLA-4 content in a sample of a human subject. The present invention further provides a novel method for isolating human regulatory T cells. The resultant enriched and depleted cellular populations are useful in treating or ameliorating of human diseases.
