Abstract: A fluid-delivery system, a fluid-delivery device, and an adapter are described herein for applying fluid to tissue. The adapter generally includes a proximal portion and a distal portion. The proximal portion includes a grasping handle to be grasped by a grasping instrument having a pair of jaws, and a collar surrounding the grasping handle to increase a grip on the pair of jaws. The distal portion is adapted to connect with the fluid-delivery device. The fluid-delivery device generally includes a tip to apply the fluid to the tissue, a tip saturator to supply the tip with the fluid, a flow regulator to control fluid flow to the tip saturator, and a fluid housing to contain the fluid which is appliable to the tissue. The fluid-delivery system includes the adapter connected with the fluid-delivery device. The fluid-delivery system is particularly advantageous for marking tissues during endoscopic surgical procedures.

Abstract: A fluid delivery system, method, and apparatus for providing instillation therapy with a negative-pressure source is described. The apparatus includes a housing having an ambient chamber and a negative-pressure chamber fluidly isolated from each other. The apparatus also includes a moveable barrier disposed in the housing between the ambient chamber and the negative-pressure chamber. The moveable barrier is operable to move between a charge position and a discharge position in response to negative pressure. A fluid source is disposed in the negative-pressure chamber and is collapsible in response to movement of the moveable barrier to the discharge position. The apparatus also includes a fluid outlet in fluid communication with the fluid source, a negative-pressure port in fluid communication with the negative-pressure chamber and configured to be coupled to a negative-pressure source, and a vent formed in the housing and fluidly coupled to the ambient chamber.

Abstract: A pump and a pump controller which uses an algorithm to quickly achieve and maintain a stable plasma field in a surgical site are provided. The algorithm calculates an electrical characteristic value to determine if a suction rate by the pump should be increased or decreased to achieve the stable plasma field. A method of using the pump and the pump controller is also provided.
