摘要: Provided herein is an apparatus for producing dialysis fluid including a forward osmosis unit used for diluting a dialysis concentrate for producing dialysis fluid. The FO-unit includes a FO-membrane that separates a first side from a second side. The apparatus also comprises a first flow path including a first side and a control arrangement providing priming fluid from a source to the first flow path. A return path fluidly connects an inlet port of the first side to an outlet port of the first side to allow priming fluid from the outlet port to circulate to the inlet port via the return path. The apparatus further comprises a gas collection chamber arranged in the first flow path between the first side and the return path. The gas collection chamber removes gas from first flow path. The present disclosure also relates to a method for priming a FO-unit.

摘要: In some illustrative examples, a conduit interface may include a mounting surface and an exterior-facing surface positioned across from the mounting surface, an internal cavity, an inlet port, a vent, and a temporary plug. The internal cavity may include an opening positioned proximate to the mounting surface. The inlet port may be in in fluid communication with the internal cavity through the exterior-facing surface. The vent may be in fluid communication with the internal cavity through the exterior-facing surface. The temporary plug may be configured to temporarily preclude fluid communication through the vent. The conduit interface may be suitable for providing fluid communication with a dressing at a tissue site. Also provided are other examples, apparatus, systems, and methods.

摘要: A blood purification apparatus that includes a blood circuit including an arterial blood circuit and a venous blood circuit and that allows a patient's blood to extracorporeally circulate, with a blood purifier that is interposed between the arterial blood circuit and the venous blood circuit and purifies; a dialysate temporary chamber that temporarily stores dialysate received from a dialysate storage supported by a supporting unit; a substitution-fluid temporary chamber that temporarily stores substitution fluid received from a substitution-fluid storage supported by the supporting unit; a first dialysate introduction line through which the dialysate in the dialysate storage flows into the dialysate temporary chamber; and a substitution line through which the substitution fluid in the substitution-fluid storage flows into the substitution-fluid temporary chamber. The blood purification apparatus includes a dialysate transfer pump provided to the first dialysate introduction line and that transfers the dialysate in the dialysate storage to the dialysate temporary chamber, a substitution-fluid transfer pump provided to the substitution line and that transfers the substitution fluid in the substitution-fluid storage to the substitution-fluid temporary chamber, and a control unit that controls the dialysate transfer pump and the substitution-fluid transfer pump.

摘要: A trap bowl is provided to accumulate liquid droplets from a filter, as a liquid content. The trap bowl includes a transparent vertical prism. The transparent vertical prism includes a face that forms a vertical transparent surface facing against a content of the section. The face can provide a first angle of total reflection when content of the section is a type of gas, and a second angle of total reflection when the content of the section is the liquid content. A light source may emit a light beam incident on the face at an angle of incidence. The angle of incidence results in reflection of the light beam, striking the light receiver, when the face has the first angle of total reflection, and results in refraction of the light beam, missing the light receiver, when the face has the second angle of total reflection.

摘要: Apparatus and methods for delivering humidified breathing gas to a patient are provided. The apparatus includes a humidification system configured to deliver humidified breathing gas to a patient. The humidification system includes a vapor transfer unit and a base unit. The vapor transfer unit includes a liquid passage, a breathing gas passage, and a vapor transfer device positioned to transfer vapor to the breathing gas passage from the liquid passage. The base unit includes a base unit that releasably engages the vapor transfer unit to enable reuse of the base unit and selective disposal of the vapor transfer unit. The liquid passage is not coupled to the base unit for liquid flow therebetween when the vapor transfer unit is received by the base unit.

摘要: Embodiments of negative pressure wound therapy apparatuses and methods for using such apparatuses are disclosed. In some embodiments, a negative pressure wound therapy apparatus includes a controller configured to determine a level of exudate in a canister (or a dressing) based at least in part on one or more characteristics of pressure signals generated by a negative pressure source and monitored by a pressure sensor. One such characteristic of the pressure signals can be amplitude, which may increase as a level of exudate in the canister (or dressing) increases. The canister (or dressing) can include a filter configured to become occluded in order to prevent overflow of the canister (or dressing). The controller can be additionally configured to detect and indicate a canister (or dressing) pre-full condition before the filter becomes occluded. More efficient and reliable operation of the negative pressure wound therapy apparatus can thereby be attained.
