Abstract:
A mixer nozzle assembly for mixing fluid introduced into a tank having a tank volume therein. The mixer nozzle assembly includes a stationary body and a rotatable body mounted on the stationary body for rotation about an axis in a predetermined direction. The fluid flows through the stationary body to the rotatable body and exits into the tank volume via one or more outlet apertures for causing the rotatable body to rotate in the predetermined direction about the axis. The mixer nozzle assembly also includes a governor subassembly for controlling a speed of rotation of the rotatable body in the predetermined direction about the axis and a hydraulic circuit for governing a flow rate of hydraulic fluid directed to the governor subassembly, to adjust the flow rate of the hydraulic fluid for adjusting the speed of rotation of the rotatable body to the preselected speed.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus is disclosed for maintaining fluid in suspension in a mixing tank including particles includes providing a reversible mixer, rotating the mixer in a normal direction in which particles buildup on the mixer, and, rotating the mixer in an abnormal direction to shed the particles from the mixer.

A blending system for and a method of providing a continuous supply of a blend, the system comprising: a blending unit operative to blend batches of a blend comprising a plurality of constituent components; a blend feeding unit operative to receive each blended batch from the blending unit and deliver a continuous supply of the blend; and a control unit for controlling operation of the blending unit such as intermittently to blend batches of the blend.
Abstract:
In a method for controlling the mixing of dough ingredients in a mixer, dough ingredients are mixed. The amount of power supplied to the mixer is measured in specified time intervals. Data relating to the amount of power supplied are stored. Based on the stored data, a decline in the amount of power supplied to the mixer is identified and the mixer mixes the dough ingredients for a predetermined period of time after the decline is identified. A mixer of the present invention includes a mixing device, a motor coupled to the mixing device, a power source coupled to the motor, and a mixing-time controller.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for mixing fluids in a manner that ranges from maintaining the integrity of fragile molecular and biological materials in the mixing vessel to homogenizing heavy aggregate material by supplying large amounts of energy. The variety in mixing manner is accomplished using an electronic controller to generate signals to a motor driver in order to control the frequency and the amplitude of the motor, which drives an agitator assembly. The motor may be a stepper motor, a linear motor or a DC continuous motor. By placing a sensor in the mixing vessel to provide feedback control to the mixing motor, the characteristics of agitation in the fluid can be adjusted to optimize the degree of mixing and produce the highest quality mixant, with consistent results.
Abstract:
Agitator blades formed by connecting a plurality of frame members are provided in a cylindrical or conical container to realize the agitator blade structure without rotary shaft. Therefore, less liquids being treated adhere onto the rotary shaft or the agitator blades and less residue of the liquids is formed, making it possible to obtain a final high viscosity polymer using the same agitator vessel preventing the quality from being deteriorated.
Abstract:
An electric control apparatus for an icecream-making machine wherein a stirring paddle is settled in an icecream-forming container in conditions for thermal exchange with an evaporator of a refrigerating system and is driven by an electric motor to whip icecream ingredients stored in the container. The electric control apparatus is arranged to detect the rotational speed of the paddle for producing a pulse signal at a period inversely proportional to the detected rotational speed, to produce an output signal when 1/n of the period of the pulse signal is more than a predetermined period of time and to cease production of the output signal when 1/n of the period of the pulse signal becomes less than the predetermined period of time, and to permit supply of an electric power to the motor when production of the output signal is ceased and to cut off the supply of the electric power to the motor in response to the output signal.

Abstract:
A photographic developer turning system for periodically turning a film processing container. An electric motor connected to an output shaft is mechanically coupled to a clamp disposed about a cylindrically shaped film processing container. The motor turns the container about an axis perpendicular to the axis of the container. A cam, mounted on the shaft, opens a microswitch to interrupt the supply of power to the motor, after one rotation. A variable time delay switch connected to the microswitch permits the motor to be energized after a preselected time. After each rotation, the microswitch resets the time delay switch to zero so that the container may again be rotated after a preselected time delay.
