    摘要: Radial compression mechanism includes a base member and a plurality of elongated compression dies. The dies are arranged in a generally circular orientation on the base member with a contact surface of each die in sliding contact with a base surface of an adjacent die. A portion of each base surface of each die cooperates with portions of base surfaces of adjacent dies to define a generally cylindrical central cavity moved between open and closed positions by a driving mechanism. The dies are cammingly coupled to the base member and to the driving mechanism so that rotation of the driving mechanism about the central axis causes each die to move generally arcuately about a point of camming engagement with the base member.

    摘要: A method for fabricating structural building blocks having a cured binding material dispersed within block forming media thereof comprises a plurality of operations. An operation is performed for depositing a volume of block-forming media within a media receiving cavity of block forming equipment. The block-forming media includes a curable binding material dispersed therein and curing of the curable binding material is caused by contact with a prescribed activation material. After or in conjunction with depositing the volume of block-forming media, an operation is performed for depositing the prescribed activation material into the media receiving cavity. Such depositing of the prescribed activation material causing at least a portion of the prescribed activation material to be dispersed within the volume of the block-forming media. During depositing of the prescribed activation material or after depositing of the prescribed activation material is completed, an operation is performed for compressing the block-forming media within the media receiving cavity.

    摘要: An apparatus for pressing a mass into a coherent workpiece has a mold body defining a chamber and a mold liner in the chamber having a generally cylindrical pressing surface centered on an axis, directed in one radial direction, and defining a mold cavity and an opposite surface directed in an opposite radial direction. A plunger is engageable axially in the cavity. The cavity holds the mass in engagement with the pressing surface and with the plunger. The plunger can be pressed axially against the mass and thereby compress the mass in the cavity. A force, typically effected hydraulically, is exerted against the liner in the one radial direction between the mold body and the opposite surface of the liner to thereby elastically deform the liner in the one radial direction toward the mass and radially compress the liner and mass in the cavity.

    摘要: A keyless vehicle access control system includes a transceiver in a vehicle and a mobile transponder. The transceiver includes transmitters for transmitting respective code signals and a key interrogation signal and is operable for receiving response and crypto-code signals. The transponder is operable for receiving the code and the key interrogation signals and for transmitting response and crypto-code. Upon the transponder receiving a code signal from a respective transmitter the transponder transmits a response signal indicative of the respective transmitter to the transceiver unit. Upon the transponder receiving a interrogation signal from the transceiver unit the transponder transmits a crypto-code signal to the transceiver unit. Upon the transceiver unit receiving a crypto-code signal from the transponder the transceiver checks the crypto-code signal to determine vehicle access authorization of the transponder. The transceiver actuates a vehicle access function associated with the respective transmitter upon determining that the transponder has authorization.

Two posts integral to sliding frame part 2 are freely and movably supported at the upper surface and within a post guide part located at both sides of frame base 5. Pressure is exerted on pressure rod 7 by the force applied at actuator 6. When the pressure applied to pressure rod 7 by actuator 6 exceeds the free weight of sliding frame part 2, a reactive force generated from pressure rod 7 operates to raise sliding frame part 2, thus simultaneously applying a uniform load to opposing sides of the workpiece located between pressure rod 7 and the lower punch 9 operatively connected to the sliding frame part 2.

    摘要: Apparatus and methods for compressing a mass utilizing a plurality of interfitting anvils mounted for movement relative to one another along co-planar paths and include faces which, when the anvils are operatively moved relative to one another, exert compression on a mass positioned between the faces in at least two directions in a plane simultaneously. The faces of the apparatus can be so shaped that the cross section of the mass being compressed is urged toward a shape other than that of a regular polygon. Methods of the invention include the consolidation of a mass of compactable material enclosed within a hollow tube having deformable walls, the extraction of juice or oil from fruit or seeds and the internal fracturing of solids so as to swell materials such as solid rocket propellants.
