Abstract:
A method of preparing a cylindrical corrugated article, comprising supplying a sheet material in between a pair of rotatable forming rolls having interlocking corrugated surfaces thereby to press and corrugate said sheet material, mounting the resulting corrugated article on the rounded surface of one of said forming rolls by means of a guide member, and then discharging the thus mounted cylindrical corrugated article from said forming roll.
Abstract:
An apparatus for preparing a cylindrical corrugated article, which apparatus includes a pair of forming rolls having corrugated surfaces which are drivingly interlocked for causing rotation of the rolls in opposite directions. A sheet material is fed between the rolls to cause corrugation thereof. Grooves extend circumferentially around one of the forming rolls, and ringlike guide plates extend circumferentially around the other forming roll, which guide plates have the fore ends thereof disposed within the grooves. These guide plates thus ensure that the corrugated sheet material is coiled around the other forming roll. A discharging device then coacts with the other roll for axially removing the cylindrical corrugated article therefrom.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for the fixed combination of side-fold bags to form stacks. The side-fold bags to be combined, arriving from a machine which produces side-fold bags, are previously separated into stacks of a controlled quantity. During combining, each stack is oriented in relation to a perforating station, pressed together and punched with at least two through-holes. Each stack is interlockingly bundled by at least one intermediate fixation element, which is force-lockingly closed to form a loop, for the purpose of being further used in an automatic goods packing machine, where each stack is fixedly held in a packaging station by a fixing element in the shape of a hoop, which penetrates through the holes, wherein the intermediate fixation element is removed.
Abstract:
Apparatus for collecting, counting, stacking, turning over and arranging bags or sacks produced in a high production bag manufacturing machine for assembling and wrapping in desired bundles of uniform dimension for shipment or storage. The apparatus is synchronized with the bag machine to automatically accept the output therefrom for collecting in discrete stacks of a given quantity which are then overturned and fed by a conveyor into a wrapping apparatus with the bottoms of the bags of adjacent stacks positioned at opposite ends for assembling and wrapping in bundles of a uniform thickness to accommodate storage and shipment of the wrapped bundles.
Abstract:
Machinery for three dimensionally forming register cut paper articles such as plates, bowls and saucers is operated with a single, register controlled material supply web and a 2:1 cyclic speed differential between the blank cutting station and the hot forming press. Rotational drive speed of the machine is set and limited by the cycle rate of the hot forming press but two or more, register cut product units are cut and stacked from a single ply, registered controlled web supply within a single cycle interim of the forming press. Consequently, the speed limiting step of the entire machine continues, with a single ply web supply to operate with a high percentage of maximum productivity.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method and apparatus for continuously stacking and discharging a predetermined number of flat folded, glued box blanks issuing from a folder-gluer without limiting the operating capacity of the folder-gluer. Provided is a conveyor means for depositing a predetermined number of blanks on a stacking table. Interposed between the conveyor and table are counter means and blank deflecting means. After a predetermined number of blanks have been counted, the counter activates the deflecting means and a secondary support means. The next following blank is deflected and engaged by a secondary support means and it and the following blanks are supported thereby until the blanks on the support table have been discharged and the table assumes the support of the new stack.
