摘要: The present invention provides a non-woven felt material that includes a blend of cotton shoddy and synthetic fibers, and a method of making the same. The blend of cotton shoddy and synthetic fibers is carded and needled to form a batt. The batt is compacted and unified into its stable final shape by heating and soft-pressing, which causes at least a portion of the synthetic fibers to soften and/or melt and thereby bond the needled cotton shoddy and synthetic fibers together. The non-woven felt material according to the invention is strong, tear resistant, yet provides a non-slip, cushioned walking surface that readily absorbs and contains spilled oils, water and/or glycols.

摘要: A method for the manufacture of a perforated nonwoven, whereby perforation means engage into the nonwoven. The perforation means are arranged on a first roller. The perforation means engage through the nonwoven into a surface of a second roller. The perforation means displace fibers of the nonwoven, whereby the perforation means engage in a material on the second roller, such that said means can displace the material when they engage. In addition, a corresponding device and corresponding materials are provided for.

摘要: A plant serves as a mean for production of a fibre web of synthetic fibres, such as plastic fibres and absorbent fibres, such as viscose and cellulose fibres. The plant includes a forming head preliminary to lay a homogeneously and smoothly distributed fibre layer on a net shaped wire. Furthermore the plant includes a hydro-entangling section with liquid nozzles with powerful liquid jets to treat the in the forming head formed fibre layer, which consists of both synthetic—and absorbent fibres. The plant also includes an oven subsequently to thermal bond the synthetic fibres with cross bonds in the affected areas. Finally the dried web is winded up in a roller. By the help of the plant according to the invention, by higher production speed than known previously a fibre web can be produced, which is far cheaper, and which has a better and more homogeneous structure than similar conventional fibre webs.

摘要: An apparatus for making a fiber batt includes an opening roll for opening fibers fed thereto; a fiber removing device directing an air stream to the opening roll for removing the opened fiber therefrom; a downwardly open fiber gathering hood; an arrangement for introducing into the hood an air stream carrying the opened fiber removed from the opening roll; an air-pervious, continuously moving fiber gathering surface covered by the fiber gathering hood; an arrangement for forcing air from the fiber gathering hood through the fiber gathering surface for depositing the fibers thereon to form a fiber batt; and an arrangement for heating the fibers with a heated air stream in a zone between the opening roll and the fiber gathering surface for effecting a heat treatment of the fibers, such as a binding of the fibers with a binding agent mixed to the fibers.

摘要: Shaped felts are produced by forming a mat of crimped continuous synthetic textile filaments, subjecting a portion of the mat to a needling operation and moving the mat in relation to the needles until the entire surface of the mat has been pierced by the needles. The continuous filaments may be crimped then assembled under tension in substantially parallel form into a mat and then relaxed or alternatively the mat may be formed of potentially crimpable fibrous material and subsequently crimped by the action of water or evaporation of a solvent. Fibres which may be included in the felt include rayon, nylon and polyethylene terephthalate. Two or more layers may be needled together or a mat of the fibres may be needled to a base fabric, e.g. of cotton which may be woven or knitted, or to a base material comprising an elastomeric material. Binding agents such as thermoplastic resins may be added to the yarns or to the web before, during or after needling. A tennis ball core wound uniformly with a crimped nylon continuous filament yarn (see Division B8) is placed in slightly compressed condition between a rotatable table (45) and a needle plate (38) and subjected to a needling operation by means of a needling head (41), Fig. 5 (not shown). The table (45) is not only rotated but is moved in a direction parallel to shaft (47) so that the entire surface of the ball is needled to produce a felt-like surface. To prevent puncturing of the rubber core the needles used are provided with one barb formation only (Fig. 5a, not shown). In an alternative embodiment (Figs. 1-3, not shown), an endless belt is produced by needling a belt of continuous filament nylon 66 yarn on to a woven cotton fabric base supported on two rotatable rollers. Rotation of the rollers causes the entire surface of the belt to be presented in the area in which needling takes place.ALSO:A tennis ball is formed by winding a crimped nylon continuous p filament yarn uniformly on a rubber core placing the core in a slightly compressed condition between a rotatable table and a needle plate and subjecting the assembly to a needling operation. The table is not only rotated but is moved perpendicularly to the axis of the table so that the entire surface of the ball is needled to produce a felt-like surface.
