摘要: An improved felting process utilizing silk fibers is now described. It comprises the steps of pulling off tufts of wool from a wool roving; placing at least some of said pulled tufts of wool one next to the other in order to produce a first row of wool tufts; adding one or more additional rows of wool tufts to said first row in order to produce a first layer of wool tufts of a desired size and shape; laying out at least one additional layer of wool tufts over said first layer of wool tufts in order to produce a wool fabric layout; laying out wool and silk along said layout in a desired geometric pattern in order to produce a felt fabric; wetting said felt fabric; and applying friction to said fabric layout.

摘要: The present invention relates to a blend of 15-97 weight percent electret fibers and 3-85 percent by weight dissimilar non-electret fibers using dry laid blending techniques. The electret fibers incorporate 0.05 to 30 weight percent charge control agents. Optionally, at least about 3 to about 50 weight percent of said blend is bicomponent fibers having a low melting component to bond the blend into a unitary nonwoven structure. The blend is bonded to form nonwoven webs that are used in making filter fabric and particularly air filter fabric. The charge control agents are selected from the class of triphenylmethanes; ammonium and immonium compounds; fluorinated ammonium and immonium compounds; bis-cationic acid amides; polymeric ammonium compounds; diallylammonium compounds; arylsulfide derivatives; phenol derivatives; phosphonium compounds and fluorinated phosphonium compounds; calix(n)arenes; metal complex compounds; benzimidazolones; and azines, thiazines or oxazines which are listed in the Color Index as Pigments, Solvent Dyes, Basic Dyes or Acid Dyes. The preferred blend contains electret fibers of polypropylene with one or more charge control agents and polyethylene terephthalate fibers having no charge control agents.

摘要: A process for converting components of poultry production feather waste into value-added products involves a single counterflow or batch system wash in a polar organic solvent solution. The feather waste can contain loose, picked feathers, and non-feather avian parts. The feather-waste stream is exposed to a concentration gradient of solvent which sanitizes, denatures, dehydrates, and de-oils it. In one aspect, the counterflow contact between solvent solution and feather waste takes place in an inclined screw conveyor. The process produces avian oil and protein from a liquid intermediate stream and dry fiber and protein powder from the converted waste stream. Fiber from this process can be used in fabrics, composites, extrusions and laminates. Oil and protein can be used in biochemical, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, animal feed, and fertilizer products.

摘要: A natural fiber felt is provided, which is a film formed by processes of binding a natural fiber net with a binder, extruding, drying and shaping the natural fiber net. A surface of the film is coated with a waterproof layer. The foam binder is formed by combining modified starch serving as a binder and urea serving as a foaming agent with water. A water-repellent agent fruit wax emulsion is employed to form the waterproof layer. The natural fiber net is carded by a carding machine at one time, and the foam binder is sprayed onto the natural fiber net to bind the natural fiber net so as to form the film. The product has characteristics of ultra-thinness and high strength with good performances on heat preservation, moisturizing ability, waterproof and air permeability.
