    摘要: A method of making an integrated window sash includes providing a sash frame having a first sheet supporting surface, a second sheet supporting surface, and a base extending from the first sheet supporting surface to toward the second sheet supporting surface; applying a layer of an adhesive sealant having a low gas and moisture permeability on the first sheet supporting surface; applying a layer of an adhesive sealant having a low gas and moisture permeability on the second sheet supporting surface; applying a layer of a moisture pervious matrix having a desiccant therein on the base; moving a first sheet having a first major surface and an opposite second major surface into the spacer frame over and spaced from the matrix to move the first major surface of the first sheet against the first layer, and moving a second sheet having a first major surface and an opposite major surface toward the second layer to move the first major surface of the second sheet against the second layer, wherein the first surface of the second sheet is spaced from the second surface of the first sheet to provide a compartment therebetween and the desiccant is in communication with the compartment.

    摘要: A metal spacer having an area of reduced thickness between substrate engaging members. The reduction in thickness not only provides for reduced thermal transmission between the substrate engaging members and thus the substrates engaged therewith but further permits the spacer to absorb any negative or positive pressure translated to the spacer body by substrates contacting the spacer. For enhanced strength, the portion of reduced thickness may be bent in any one of a number of configurations depending upon the requirements and potential pressure to be experienced by the spacer or any assembly including the spacer. In a further embodiment, the metal spacer body may be embossed to enhance strength. The result of the spacer is a light-weight spacer element with reduced energy transmission between substrates engaged therewith.

    摘要: A spacer tube design is arranged to receive a snap-on cap which may be of any desired color thereby to match the surrounding structure. The spacer tube can be bent into a rectangular outline shape without the use of separate corner inserts. The snap-on cap may be capable of holding a deisiccant material. The cap may be also designed as to provide thermal and/or sound insulation between the glazing panels and/or to securely hold a decorative grill or the like in place between the glazing panels. The spacer unit may be capable of flexing in such a manner as to accommodate relative movement between the glazing units in response to fluctuations in the forces acting on the glazing panels thereby to reduce the possibility of damage occurring to the glazing unit.
