Abstract:
A dual diaphragm, multiposition vacuum actuator. Dual diaphragms in a housing define two vacuum chambers. A spring urges one diaphragm and an actuator rod extended, and the other diaphragm retracted. Vacuum in one chamber retracts the extended diaphragm and actuator rod to an intermediate position, and advances the retracted diaphragm. Vacuum added in the other chamber retracts both diaphragms and the rod as a unit to a fully retracted position.
Abstract:
A vacuum control device comprises a casing in which are disposed at least two substantially parallel movable cups, the first cup being connected to the element to be displaced. Springs are interposed respectively between the two cups and between the second cup and a bottom end-wall of the casing. Two pipes or nipples connected to a vacuum source and to atmospheric pressure open into the casing respectively within the space located between the two cups and within the space located between the second cup and the casing end-wall.
Abstract:
A position regulator is provided which is effective to control, via a control unit, a pressure medium circuit to operate at different working pressures. The regulator comprises two or more pressure transmitting elements which divide an internal space into a number of pressure chambers, the pressure transmitting elements being arranged for axial movement within the position regulator. The invention provides pressure transmitting elements defining the pressure chambers which comprise diaphragms or the like which are attached in mutually spaced relationship in the position regulator and which, when subjected to a force, permit axial displacement movements.
Abstract:
A tri-position linear actuator having a pair of pistons slideably mounted within an outer housing. These two pistons are actuated by a pressure differential. By varying the differential pressures acting on one or both of the pistons the actuator is moved to three distinct longitudinal positions.
Abstract:
A device for selecting three different positions, which includes a hollow body having formed therein first and second bores selectively communicating with a source of pressurized fluid, a first piston having a flange slidably fitted in the first bore and a hollow extension extending from the flange and slidably fitted in the second bore, a second piston having a flange slidably fitted in the second bore and a hollow extension extending from the flange of the second piston and slidably fitted in the inner peripheral wall of the extension of the first piston, and a piston rod rigidly connected to the flange of the second piston. The positions of the second piston is shifted by selectively drawing a pressurized fluid into the first and/or second bores.
