摘要: An apparatus for determining a value that represents an amount of liquid in a vessel, wherein the vessel is configured to be a tube or a cuvette. The vessel for the liquid is basically transparent, with at least one radiation unit, that is arranged alongside the longitudinal axis of the vessel and that radiates light into the vessel, as well as at least one light detector with at least one light receiver that is assigned to the radiation unit and that receives the light that is coming through the vessel and forwards it to the light detector. The apparatus comprises a data processing unit that determines the value that represents the amount of the liquid in the vessel from the light that was detected by the light detector. The apparatus is characterized in that the light detector detects the sum total of the light that was radiated through the vessel and was received by all light receivers. Furthermore, the invention relates to the use of the apparatus in an analyzer.

摘要: A liquid level sensing system includes waveguides disposed in a liquid and distributed along a path with a gap between adjacent waveguides. A source introduces electromagnetic energy into the waveguides at a first end of the path. A portion of the electromagnetic energy exits the waveguides at a second end of the path. A detector measures the portion of the electromagnetic energy exiting the second end of the path.

摘要: The present invention aims at attaining a liquid surface level detecting apparatus, which can be used in various detection targets and usage environments without selecting a detection target, can efficiently irradiate a light to a liquid surface level detecting unit and detect a variation in a light reception amount of a light receiving means at a high sensibility, and can be excellent in durability, easy to manufacture, and be actually used. By placing a light shielding means 14 so as not to directly irradiate the light from a light emitting means 12 to a light receiving means 13, the light from the light emitting means is scattered by an optically scattering means 16, and a part of that scattering light is radiated to an outside by the liquid surface level detecting unit on a light radiating means (an optically transmitting member) 11. On the other hand, the scattering light, which is reflected without being radiated, is received by the light receiving means, and the change in that light reception amount is detected. Consequently, if a liquid 17 exists in the outside, a light amount, which is reflected by a boundary between the liquid and the light radiating means and returned to an inside of the light radiating means, is reduced, and the light reception amount in the light receiving means is also reduced. Thus, by measuring the change in the light reception amount, it is possible to detect a liquid surface level of the liquid.

摘要: A washing agent dispenser is described, for a household washing machine, namely a dishwasher, said dispenser including a tank for containing a liquid washing agent, to which a device is associated for the visual control of the level of said liquid washing agent. According to the invention, said control device has a plurality of elements of a substantially transparent material, which are inserted in respective passages extending between said tank and the outside of the body of the dispenser. The parts of each one of said transparent elements which are visible outside said body form the steps of a scale indicating the level of said liquid washing agent contained in the tank.

摘要: An optical fluid level monitor is disclosed. It comprises a plurality of prismatic sensors disposed in a linear array for measuring the levels of fluids, such as oil, in sumps of aircraft and helicopter engines and other closed containers. In use each of the sensors is sequentially pulsed by an integral light source. If the detector is above the fluid level it appears bright, if below it appears bright, if below it appears dark, this difference being caused by an integral light detector device. Counting circuits are provided to determine the number of bright sensors and electronically convert this into a fluid volume for display purposes. A presettable low volume alarm is also included as is a correction circuit to compensate for volume changes caused by heating of the fluid in use.

摘要: A device for producing a light signal corresponding to the refractive index of a fluid medium comprises an elongated light-conducting body consisting of an input section and an an output section connected to each other by an intermediate curved section adapted for immersion in said fluid. This curved section is provided with a plurality of curvatures arranged successively and bent alternately in opposite directions, whereby light passing by refraction into said fluid undergoes a notably greater variation, as a function of the refractive index of said fluid medium, than can be obtained with a curved section bent in a simple direction. A light signal is thus provided with a high sensitivity.
