Abstract: Techniques for implementing a dynamic intelligent log analysis tool are disclosed. In some embodiments, a computer system performs operations comprising: obtaining a log file comprising a plurality of log entries, each log entry comprising an error message; identifying a set of unique words from the error messages; for each error message, computing a term-frequency vector based on a frequency of occurrence for each unique word of the set of unique words in the error message; for each error message, computing a similarity measure between the term-frequency vectors of the error message and every other error message of the log entries; for each error message, computing a score based on a sum of the similarity measures; and displaying an indication of one or more of the error messages on a computing device based on the scores for the one or more of the error messages.

Abstract: The techniques disclosed herein enable systems to store file system metadata on append-only storage devices by the introduction of a metadata layout and relative references. To achieve this, a system analyzes a file metadata structure to select an approach to storing the metadata structure on the storage device. If the metadata structure is above a threshold size, it is separated into layers that are then appended to the storage device from lowest to highest. An offset is retrieved for appended layers and provided to upper-level layers that refer to them until the full structure is stored. For storing smaller pieces of metadata that refer to each other, the system configures upper-level nodes with relative references that express the location of metadata relative to the node. This enables atomic write operations for smaller metadata structures and/or portions of larger structures.

Abstract: Methods and systems implement local file systems of computing nodes which translate random-access read and random-access write operation calls to append-based operation calls in accordance with a distributed file system (“DFS”) implemented across storage nodes of a cloud network. Computer-executable applications running on the computing nodes may generate kernel-level read and write system calls by application programming interfaces (“APIs”) such as the Portable Operating System Interface (“POSIX”) standard, to a local file system. The local file system may translate these read and write system calls to file operations at a DFS implementing an append-only file system, as well as perform storage reclamation upon the DFS periodically and/or upon storage thresholds being exceeded. Storage for computing workloads on the computing nodes may be decoupled from individual computing nodes, in comparison to conventional architectures for computing clusters and storage clusters in cloud networks, enabling storage to be scaled without static allocations.

Abstract: Systems and methods of providing immutable records, and immutable ordering of records, in a computing system are disclosed. The computing system can be a member of a blockchain network of a plurality of blockchains. Each block can include a cryptographic digest (or hash) conforming to a minimum degree of difficulty, a nonce by which the cryptographic digest was generated in conformation with the degree of difficulty, and a list of cryptographic digests of most recent blocks of participating neighbor blockchains. Blocks may be passed between blockchains of the plurality of blockchains, which enables each member of the blockchain network to verify an immutable record of data transactions free of the mutual trust requirement of a typical blockchain environment. In conjunction with the generation of each block, an event record may be entered into an event log of the computing system wherein the block was generated. The event record, which may contain actionable instructions, requests, etc., may be transmitted to computing systems of participating neighbor blockchains, where actionable items may be acted upon. Further, the event logs of each computing system may be exchanged, compared, and adjusted to reflect the earliest appearance of each block of each participating neighbor blockchain.
