    摘要: This is a facsimile printer broadcast exchange (PBX) system for receiving a facsimile transmission over a telephone line from a facsimile device at a remote loction directed to a telephone number with an extension number and for transmitting the facsimile transmission over a network to one of a plurality of printer units associated with the extension number for printing thereby. There is a data buffer for receiving and holding digital data. An interface is connected to the telephone line for removing and saving the extension number, for establishing and maintaining a bi-directional facsimile communications link with the facsimile device over the telephone line, for using the link to receive the transmission from the facsimile device, and for storing data of the transmission in the data buffer. Data transmission logic removes data from the data buffer means and transmits it to a network in packets addressed to the extension number. The remote printer units each contain a dot-oriented printer, a printer identification code for associating an extension number identifier with the printer, an interface, and printing logic for receiving packets containing data from the interface and for printing pixel data contained therein with the printer. The network interconnects the interface of respective ones of the printer units and the data transmission logic.

    摘要: A method for controlling the sending of a response from a telematic reception terminal (teletex, G4 facsimile, and mixed mode) is provided. The receiver includes a PAMB counter whose count indicates the remaining number of page attribute management function blocks (PAMBs), each including predetermined various attribute data relating to each page, such as line density, coding mode, page size, page number and document number. When one of predetermined commands, such as a page boundary command or a document end command, has been received, the receiver checks to see whether or not the count of the PAMB counter is equal to or larger than a predetermined value. And if it has been found to be equal to or larger than the predetermined value, a response is sent to the transmitter. Thus, the transmitter is permitted to send the information of the following page. On the other hand, if the remaining number has been found to be smaller, then the sending of a response is suspended until the condition of the remaining number being equal to or larger than the predetermined number has been established. The remaining number of PAMBs is incremented every time when recording of a single page has been completed at the receiver.

    摘要: There is provided a technique of, in a communication apparatus capable of executing facsimile communication by a deemed voice scheme, enabling generation of a communication error to be prevented regardless of a voice encoding scheme used to encode a facsimile signal. To achieve this, a communication apparatus (first FAX apparatus) establishes a voice signal transmission session with the second FAX apparatus serving as a partner apparatus in FAX communication for FAX communication by the deemed voice scheme. The first FAX apparatus determines a voice encoding scheme which is used in the established session to encode a FAX signal into a voice signal. In accordance with the determination result, the first FAX apparatus limits modulation schemes usable in generation of the FAX signal when performing FAX communication by the deemed voice scheme.
