Abstract:
A storage apparatus having an application program and connected to a data processing apparatus, the storage apparatus including a reception part configured to receive data from outside and store the data in the storage apparatus; and an execution part configured to operate the application programs and transmit an execution request to the data processing apparatus via an interface which is specific to the data processing apparatus so that a data processing is executed by functions provided to the data processing apparatus when the storage device receives a data processing request related to the data stored in the storage apparatus.
Abstract:
A mobile terminal establishes a long distance wireless communication with a printing device in accordance with identification information communicated between the mobile terminal and the printing device using the near field communication. The mobile terminal transmits a print command to the printing device using one of the near field communication unit and the long distance communication unit. The mobile terminal determines, after the print command was transmitted, and transmits, to the printing device, using the long distance communication unit, a print termination command, when the mobile terminal is spaced from the printing device by the first distance.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the systems, devices and methods described herein generally facilitate performing Bluetooth pairing between a first device and a second device. In accordance with one example embodiment, a first device generates a barcode that encodes Bluetooth pairing data for transmission to the second device, wherein the pairing data comprises a Bluetooth address associated with the first device, and wherein the pairing data further comprises a personal identification number usable to complete the Bluetooth pairing, the barcode is transmitted to the second device, and Bluetooth pairing is performed with the second device.
Abstract:
Various methods and systems are provided for real-time facsimile (fax) transmission over a packet network. In one embodiment, among others, a method includes monitoring fax communications across a pass-through connection and controlling transfer of the fax communications to a fax-relay protocol connection based at least in part upon the monitored fax communications. In another embodiment, a method includes monitoring a state of a state machine communicating over a pass-through connection and, responsive to a re-invite to the fax-relay protocol, transferring from the pass-through connection to a fax-relay protocol connection based at least in part upon the state of the state machine.
Abstract:
Provided is an apparatus that includes a generation unit configured to generate image data based on a document read via a scanner unit and a first transmission unit configured to transmit the generated image data to a designated destination. The apparatus includes a transmission server, an instruction unit configured to instruct, according to reception of an uploading request to upload the generated image data to an external server communicable with the apparatus, the first transmission unit to transmit the image data to the transmission server and a second transmission unit configured to acquire the image data transmitted by the first transmission unit according to the instruction from the instruction unit from the transmission server, and transmit the acquired image data to the external server.
Abstract:
Customers are enabled to obtain information printed on a receipt without greatly changing the configuration of devices such as POS registers that process product sales.A information management system 1 has a printer 3 that prints a receipt based on transaction information related to a product sale; a receipt database 7 that stores transaction information relationally to a unique ID 52; an member service server 6 that registers unique IDs 52 in the receipt database 7; an NFC reader 45 that reads the unique IDs 52; and a control unit 30 that determines if a unique ID 52 is registered in the receipt database 7, prints transaction information and access information for accessing the member registration server 62 if the unique ID 52 is not registered, and sends the unique ID 52 and the transaction information to the member service server 6 if the unique ID 52 is registered.
Abstract:
An image management method and system are disclosed which can increase user convenience by reducing a display time of thumbnails in a DLNA system. The DLNA system includes a digital media server for generating a thumbnail group image using thumbnails corresponding to at least one original image file and transmitting the thumbnail group image, and a digital media player for receiving the thumbnail group image from the digital media server and requesting the digital media server to transmit an original image file corresponding to a selected thumbnail among thumbnails included the thumbnail group image.
Abstract:
An image capturing apparatus having a plurality of communication modes comprises an image capturing unit adapted to capture an object image and obtain image data, and a control unit adapted to control the image capturing apparatus, wherein the plurality of communication modes include a host mode in which the image capturing apparatus is able to communicate with a plurality of external devices and a client mode in which the image capturing apparatus is disable to simultaneously communicate with the plurality of external devices, and wherein the control unit is able to automatically switch the image capturing apparatus to the host mode after an image capturing instruction is applied to the image capturing unit.
Abstract:
A scanning method used to scan documents in a scanning system, the system including a scanner and a user host computer having a technology without an interesting name (TWAIN) driver, the scanner and the user host computer connected by a local interface and a network, includes selecting one of the local interface or the network to connect the scanner and the user host computer; if the network is selected, connecting the TWAIN driver to the scanner via the selected network to control scanning processes of the scanner; and performing scanning according to the selected local interface or the network.
Abstract:
A printer includes a print setting folder storage area, a data sending device, a data receiving device, and a print device. The print setting folder storage area may store print setting folders. Each print setting folder may associate print setting data and a print setting folder address. The data sending device may send the print setting folder address of each print setting folder to an information processing device. The data receiving device may receive combination data from the information processing device. The combination data may include a data file and a data file storage command that may include a print setting folder address. Where the data receiving device receives the combination data, the print device may print the data file included in the combination data in accordance with the print setting data associated with the print setting folder address. A scanner may have a similar configuration to the printer.
