摘要: Water treatment structures may have at least a first geotextile fabric layer; a second geotextile fabric layer; a third geotextile fabric layer; a first filler layer with plastic particles, arranged between the first and second geotextile fabric layers; and a second filler layer with plastic particles, arranged between the second and third geotextile fabric layers, wherein the geotextile fabric layers and the filler layers are within a housing, and wherein the structure is configured such that contaminated water proceeds sequentially through the first geotextile fabric layer, the first filler layer, the second geotextile fabric layer, the second filler layer, and the third geotextile fabric layer. Methods of treating wastewater may involve passing wastewater, after optional oxygenating and pre-filtering, through such alternating layers of geotextile, preferably nonwoven, and polymer particles.

摘要: The present invention relates to a testing method for testing a state of an aeration tank in a wastewater treatment facility that uses activated sludge. The testing method comprises obtaining a difference between: a sedimentation amount when a given period of time has elapsed after an activated sludge mixed liquid collected from the aeration tank and water having a higher dissolved oxygen concentration than the activated sludge mixed liquid are poured into the same container and mixed together; and a sedimentation amount when a period of time equal to the given period of time has elapsed after the activated sludge mixed liquid collected from the aeration tank and water having a lower dissolved oxygen concentration than the activated sludge mixed liquid are poured into the same container and mixed together.

In some aspects, a modular MFC system includes a wastewater pretreatment system to receive and pre-treat raw wastewater for feeding pre-treated wastewater for bioelectrochemical processing; one or more modular MFC devices to bioelectrochemically process the pre-treated wastewater by concurrently generating electrical energy and digesting organic contaminants and particulates in the wastewater to yield treated, cleaner water; and a water collection module to receive the treated water from the one or more modular MFC devices and store the treated water and/or route the treated water from the system.

In some aspects, a system includes a manifold structure including one or more opening to flow air out of an interior of the manifold structure; one or more support structures connected to the manifold structure, in which the one or more support structures are floatable on a surface of a fluid that includes water or a wastewater; and an air source that flows air to the manifold structure, such that the manifold structure supplies the air containing a predetermined amount of oxygen (e.g., less than 0.1 mg/L of oxygen) to oxidize sulfide of the fluid.

摘要: An overgrowth of worms can reduce the effluent quality of a membrane aerated biofilm reactor. A method of controlling the growth of worms in a membrane aerated biofilm includes discontinuing all oxygen sources to a tank containing the biofilm and fluid flows flow into the tank. The tank is maintained in this idle condition for a period of time sufficient to kill at least some of the worms living in the biofilm. The method may be applied periodically to inhibit the formation of an excessive population of worms or retroactively to reduce an already excessive population of worms.

摘要: A sequencing batch reactor includes a liquid level sensor configured to measure a level of liquid in the vessel and provide an indication of the level of the liquid to a controller and a sludge detector configured to measure a position of an interface between sludge and solids-lean supernatant in the vessel and to provide an indication of the position of the interface to the controller. The controller is configured to perform a comparison between the level of the liquid and the position of the interface and control an amount of solids-lean supernatant removed from the vessel during the decant stage based on the comparison.

摘要: The present disclosure generally relates to a system for monitoring and/or controlling the delivery of one or more organic carbon compounds to a wastewater treatment system. The system comprises a bio-electrochemical sensor to monitor metabolic activity of a population of exo-electrogenic bacteria and provide an electrical output corresponding with the metabolic activity, the bio-electrochemical sensor comprising an electrode pair and a power source to deliver a voltage across the electrode pair, and an electrical output analyzer to analyze the electrical output and correlate the electrical output with a value representing the amount of the one or more organic carbon compounds in the wastewater treatment system. A method and sensor for monitoring and/or controlling the delivery of one or more organic carbon compounds to a wastewater treatment system are also provided.
