摘要: A water restoration system is presented. The system includes a filtration chamber disposed proximate to or within a water basin, such as a watershed basin, to continuously filter contaminants from the water basin without relying on a rain event. The filtration chamber includes a reaction chamber and an aeration and mixing chamber, such that the water removed from the basin interacts with filtration media within the reaction chamber, and such that the filtration media mixes with the water (while the water is aerated) within the aeration and mixing chamber. As a result, water from the basin is continuously filtered through the water restoration system to reduce the concentration of contaminants, such as phosphorus and nitrogen, from the water basin.

摘要: A system for reducing total dissolved solids in wastewater can include a vertical reactor that can include a flexible sheet material, where the flexible sheet material can be configured to facilitate the growth and attachment of an algal biofilm. The vertical reactor can include a shaft, where the shaft can be associated with and can support the flexible sheet material, and a drive motor, where the drive motor can be coupled with the shaft such that the flexible sheet material can be selectively actuated. The system can include a fluid reservoir containing a portion of wastewater through which the flexible sheet material is configured to pass as well as a stressor operably configured to stimulate the algae to produce an extracellular polymeric substance. A method of reducing total dissolved solids in wastewater includes moving an algal biofilm through the wastewater and moving the algal biofilm through a gas.

摘要: A circulating moving bed biofilm method for biological purification of waste water in a continuous process includes receiving a pretreated waste water inlet stream in an anaerobic zone of a reactor wherein micro-organism culture exist on free flowing biofilm carriers, letting the waste water stream with the biofilm carriers into an aerobic zone aerating the waste water stream and carriers received from the anaerobic zone, at an end of the aerobic zone, transferring the biofilm carriers to the anaerobic zone without transfer of water, and discharging the water through an outlet to a sludge separation process.

摘要: A biofilm carrier screen is adapted for use with a moving bed bioreactor (MBBR). The screen has a screening body connected to an effluent pipe. The effluent pipe optionally has two parts separated by a union, preferably a pitless adapter. The screening body can be lifted from a bioreactor tank for maintenance after disconnecting the union. The screening body may have an aerator to provide bubbles to disperse biofilm carriers from the screening body. The screening bod may extend downwards from a mount near the top of the tank. In the case of an anaerobic MBBR, the screening body may extend downwards from a service box through a cover over the tank.

摘要: A lightweight, bioplastic, mobile, floating oil spill mechanical/biological recovery system is dimensionally compact, and quick to assemble. The floating platform can be readily positioned within any waterborne oil/contaminant spill area. After assembly, this platform or apparatus can be directed by either a hand-held digital radio control transmitter or GPS directed mechanism. A lower, multi-roller slip-on belt is designed to be mounted over a circular base support aeration hub assembly with alternating/spaced slotted ring water drainage separators. The belt and aeration assemblies dip bioaugmentation product into the contaminant site thereby exposing microorganisms to both oxygen and target contaminant for treatment and metabolism. Various mechanisms for enhancing metabolic activity of the bioaugmentation product operate in tandem with the primary belt and aeration assemblies to promote effective contaminant metabolism and overall treatment regimes.
