摘要： A dual-purpose backerboard member is provided which has a weakening line dividing it longitudinally into two sections, and which has a barrier sheeting bonded to one face of the cellular backerboard except along the weakening line. The panel member can readily be split along the weakening line without damage to the barrier sheeting laminated thereto, due to the provision of the unbonded zone. The backer member can be used intact for a single-lap siding panel; alternatively it can be split and assembled with a double-lap panel, in which assembly the two sections are overlapped and hingedly interconnected by the bridging web of the sheeting, and are installed against the offset wall portions of the panel.

摘要： Fabric restraining cables are anchored at opposite ends to a concrete ring of a roof structure. Each cable has a plurality of bearing plates spaced longitudinally therealong and secured to the upper portion thereof by U-bolts. Clamp mounting base plates also secured at one end by the U-bolts span the spaces between pairs of the bearing plates. Each base plate has a pair of lower clamp plates secured respectively along opposite edge portions thereof. Each lower clamp plate has an upper clamp plate secured thereto and clamping a beaded edge portion of a fabric panel along with upper and lower gaskets therefor. In several embodiments, each upper gasket is extended transversely outwardly from the cable, looped back over the respective row of upper clamp plates, and releasably joined to the opposite extended and looped back upper gasket to provide a joint cover between the opposite fabric panels.

摘要： An elongated shingle assembly and method for assembling the same. The assembly extends vertically from the top of a roof to the eaves and has a plurality of elongated flat shingle members interconnected by connection assemblies. Each connection assembly has a flange member with two vertical walls on opposite sides thereof and a shelter member connecting the walls and covering tops of the walls. The bottom of each wall extends away from the wall in a horizontal direction to form a member adapted for connection to a roof. A pair of flat shingle members, each having a brim portion, are brought to fit against the outside surfaces of the vertical walls of the flange member and positioned under the shelter member, with the brims being forcibly curled in a vertically upward direction so as to be covered by flaps formed at both sides of the shelter member. A deforming tool is then positioned in a groove defined on the top surface of the shelter member and actuated to move the flaps into a position covering and gripping the brim portions.

摘要： In metal buildings, a plurality of purlins project down into the building and, in effect, serve as heat exchange fins, which conduct heat into the building in warm climates, and heat out of the building in cold climates. In order to counteract this phenomenon, each purlin is covered with a separate blanket of insulating material, which is held in place with a flexible sleeve that is laminated to the blanket. Two additional flexible sliding sleeves are used to complete installation at each end of the purlin.

摘要： Rows of longitudinally spaced channel-like brackets are secured to supporting means for a sheet metal roof or siding and each bracket has spaced side walls with flanges extending downwardly from their tops. A gutter extends through the brackets in each row and is supported by them. A clip overlies the gutter in each bracket and is hooked under the bracket flanges. Sheet metal pans on the roof-supporting means at opposite sides of the gutter have side portions extending upwardly beside the brackets, with their upper marginal areas turned inwardly over the clips and gutter. A cap above the gutter and overlying clips has downwardly extending side flanges overlapping the side portions of the pans. Screws extend down through the cap and into the central portions of the clips, which engage the lower surface of the cap, to fasten the cap to the clips. The cap and at least all but one of the clips are free to slide lengthwise together relative to the pans and brackets during thermal expansion and contraction of the sheet metal roof.
