    摘要: A plug for a wellbore including a plug element adapted to traverse the wellbore and a reservoir coupled to the plug element. The reservoir is hydraulically coupled to an annular space between a wall of the wellbore and an exterior surface of the plug element. The reservoir carries a filler material within. Extrusion of the filler material from the reservoir causes the filler material to fill the annular space so as to bind the plug element within the wall of the wellbore. One embodiment of the plug an anti-rotation element coupled to the plug element. The plug element can be coupled to drill pipe by opposite-hand thread whereby engagement of the anti-rotation element enables decoupling of the plug from the drill pipe by normal-direction rotation of the drill pipe.

The seal assembly (60) includes anchor slips (72) and a seal element (78). The seal assembly (60) is actuated by communicating hydraulic fluid to a setting assembly (82) via an operating fluid conduit integral with the tubular (62). Upon actuation, the setting assembly (82) axially shifts a pair of slip ramps (74, 76) which radially expands the anchor slips (72) into gripping engagement with the wellbore (64) and radially expands the seal element (78) into sealing engagement with the wellbore (64).

    摘要: The invention comprises a tubing assembly for use in testing an unconsolidated open-hole portion of a well bore located below a cased portion of the well bore and a method of using the assembly. The tubing assembly comprises an elongated tubing string extending from a well surface into the unconsolidated open-hole portion of the open hole, an open-hole packer mounted on the tubing string for use in sealingly engaging the unconsolidated open-hole portion of the well bore, a casing packer mounted on the tubing string between the open-hole packer and the well surface for sealingly engaging the cased portion of the well bore and a sand control device connected to the tubing string below the openhole packer. The assembly may further comprise additional open-hole packers and sand control devices mounted on the tubing string. Segments of the tubing string may be retrievable. The assembly may have one or more tubing disconnects mounted to the tubing string to disconnect segments of the tubing assembly. The tubing string may further comprise a selective flow device for selectively controlling the flow of well fluids from the well bore into the tubing string.

    摘要: A method and an apparatus for connection with a tubing string for use in a wellbore for regulating the flow of a fluid within a wellbore annulus between the tubing string and the wellbore. The apparatus includes a tubing rotator and at least one packer valve for connection with the tubing string, wherein the packer valve is actuatable through rotation of the tubing string by the tubing rotator. Rotation of the tubing string actuates the packer valve between a closed flow position wherein the packer valve substantially seals the wellbore annulus and an open flow position wherein the flow of the fluid is permitted through the wellbore annulus. The method includes the steps of suspending the tubing string in the wellbore by the tubing rotator, connecting the packer valve with the tubing string and rotating the tubing string by the tubing rotator in the first direction to actuate the packer valve to the closed flow position.
