    Abstract: A mechanical hold down for use with a pump assembly containing a seat nipple including: (i) a mandrel having a top edge, an external threaded region, a bottom tapered seat member, and an interior bore; (ii) a top bushing having a bushing interior bore, an upper external threaded section, and a lower internal threaded section engaged with the external threaded region of the mandrel; wherein the mandrel top edge is within an interior space defined by the engagement of the mandrel with the bushing; and (iii) an internal strainer assembly including a strainer bushing positioned in the interior space that has a lower edge abutting the mandrel top edge, a strainer affixed to the strainer bushing and extending through at least a portion of the mandrel's interior bore, and an intermediate element positioned about the mandrel and below the mandrel external threaded region that defines a tapered external surface.

    Abstract: An autonomous flow control device includes a valve plate having a surface and a valve element at least partially formed on the surface. The valve element has an inlet and an outlet with a fluid flow path extending therebetween. The fluid flow path included a viscosity dominant flow path configured to provide a first flow resistance and an inertia dominant flow path configured to provide a second flow resistance that is greater than the first flow resistance such that when the viscosity of the fluid flowing therethrough is greater than a first predetermined level, the fluid follows the viscosity dominant flow path with the first flow resistance and when the viscosity of the fluid flowing therethrough is less than a second predetermined level, the fluid follows the inertia dominant flow path with the second flow resistance, thereby regulating the production rate of the fluid responsive to changes in fluid viscosity.

    Abstract: A downhole diffuser assembly comprising a diffuser adapted to reside within a carrier sub. The diffuser assembly includes an upper mounting member mountable within the carrier sub and having an fluid inlet port, and a lower section having a diffuser screen. A plurality of cutters are removably attached to the diffuser screen, wherein the cutters are radially oriented relative to a central axis of the diffuser screen. The cutters may extend internal or external to the diffuser screen, depending on the desired downhole conditions. In a preferred embodiment, a first set of cutters is mounted at a first selected height along the central axis of the diffuser screen, and wherein a second set of cutters is mounted at a second selected height along the central axis of the diffuser screen.
