Abstract:
The present invention relates to a system of transfer and storage of thermal energy to and from the surrounding environment. In particular, this invention relates to a thermo-well (1) comprising at least a case (2) underground, at least one inlet pipe (10) of a heat carrier fluid and at least one outlet line (9) of said heat carrier fluid, wherein said case (2) is sealed, characterized in that said at least one case (2) contains within it an inert material (G) in granular form with which that heat carrier fluid is placed in contact to get an heat transfer between said heat carrier fluid and said inert material (G). Further objects of the invention are an heat transfer system and a storage of thermal or freezing energy and a cogeneration energy system comprising at least one thermo-well as defined above.
Abstract:
A heat storage apparatus includes heat storage panels having primary fluid passages formed therein; passage plates having secondary fluid passages formed therein; and heat reservoirs. The heat storage panels and the passage plates are layered alternately, and the heat reservoirs are interposed between the heat storage panels and the passage plates in such a manner that the heat reservoirs, the heat storage panels and the passage plates are adhered to one another. Protrusions are formed on surfaces of the heat storage panels in such a manner that the heat reservoirs are supported by the protrusions.
Abstract:
An active thermal energy storage system is disclosed which uses an energy storage material that is stable at atmospheric pressure and temperature and has a melting point higher than 32 degrees F. This energy storage material is held within a storage tank and used as an energy storage source, from which a heat transfer system (e.g., a heat pump) can draw to provide heating of residential or commercial buildings and associated hot water. The energy storage material may also accept waste heat from a conventional air conditioning loop, and may store such heat until needed. The system may be supplemented by a solar panel system that can be used to collect energy during daylight hours, storing the collected energy in the energy storage material. The stored energy may then be used during the evening hours to heat recirculation air for a building in which the system is installed.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a kind of solar-architectural materials which receive solar radiation and transfer it into heat energy and at the same time works as building finishing and decoration material, and thereof a system of building integrative solar heat utilization in which comprise a kind of heat-energy-conflux-device via metal matching surface impinging on each other without leakage possibility of liquid as heat transfer medium in the system.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an arrangement for the heating of porcelaneous stoneware plates for use as an accumulator and a radiant element for heating, comprising the use of porcelaneous stoneware plates having a rear cover of synthetic metal (1), which enable a heating element (3) to be joined to same in such a way as (i) to heat the stoneware plate through the incorporation of any type of electrical resistors (6) or the adjacent incorporation of a container for a fluid (4), such as water or oil, and (ii) to maintain heat irradiation once the actuation of the heater has been stopped.
Abstract:
In a residential furnace having a layered insulation material on the inner walls of the heat exchanger compartment, the inner aluminum foil layer has a plurality of holes formed therein in order to allow for the outer layer to absorb the sound within the heat exchanger compartment and thereby reduce the noise emanating from the furnace. Both the density and size of the holes are optimized to maximize the sound absorption performance over the particular frequency ranges that are characteristic of the furnace.
Abstract:
A water pre-heating arrangement, incorporating with a water heating system including a water heater, includes a heat exchanger for guiding water to flow from a water source to a water tank, and a solar energy collecting device having a solar energy collecting surface mounted to the heat exchanger wherein the solar energy collecting surface is adapted for collecting and transforming solar energy into heat energy to increase a water temperature in the heat exchanging unit so as to pre-heat the water in the heat exchanging unit before entering into the water tank. Therefore, the water heater powered by a fossil fuel heats up the water in the water tank from the pre-heated temperature to a predetermined temperature while being energy effective.
Abstract:
The temperature of a metallurgical slurry in a heater vessel is accurately controlled by heating a first portion of the slurry in the heater vessel by contact with a heating medium such as steam, and by adding to the heater vessel controlled portions of a slurry at lower temperature. The lower temperature slurry may be added to the heater vessel in an intermittent or continuous manner, with addition of the lower temperature slurry being regulated by a valve, the operation of which is controlled by a control device which receives temperature information from one or more temperature sensors.
Abstract:
A detachable thermal insulating device for containing radiant heat produced by an oven includes at least one detachable insulating panel having one surface in contact with the external surface of the oven, the other surface facing away from the oven. The panel has a layer of thermal insulating material that is covered by a flexible heat-resistant covering. The insulating device also includes at least one fastener for holding one of its surfaces in contact with the oven surface. The insulating device substantially reduces the dissipation of heat from the oven to its surroundings.
