摘要: A conveyor system with cooling means is provided and comprises an elongated frame defining a conveyor track. An elongated conveyor is mounted within the frame so that a portion of the conveyor extends longitudinally along the conveyor track while a suitable motor longitudinally drives the conveyor along the conveyor track in a first direction. A plurality of cooling stations are also secured at longitudinally spaced positions along the frame so that the cooling stations are longitudinally adjacent each other. Each cooling station further includes a fluid reservoir beneath the conveyor track and a spray head positioned to spray fluid down onto the conveyor track. A pump is also provided for each cooling station and has its inlet connected to the fluid reservoir for that station while its outlet is connected to the spray head at the cooling station. The novelty of the present invention, however, resides in the provision of a thermocouple for sensing the fluid temperature in a fluid reservoir upstream from the outlet end of the conveyor system and, when the temperature in the upstream reservoir exceeds a predetermined value, fluidly connecting a source of relatively cool fluid to the fluid reservoir immediately adjacent the outlet of the conveyor system. In addition, a dam is provided between adjacent reservoirs so that the addition of relatively cool fluid to the reservoir immediately adjacent the outlet end of the conveyor system forces relatively cool water over the dam and into the reservoir second from the conveyor system outlet and so on throughout the length of the conveyor track. Evaporative cooling means are also preferably associated with one or more cooling stations in order to increase the overall cooling capability of the conveyor system.

摘要: Method and apparatus for continuously processing filled containers with liquid heat treatment mediums maintained under superatmospheric pressure by an overriding air pressure. A minimum of liquid is used during processing with the liquid level being maintained above the containers at all times. The liquid is controllably circulated through container filled tunnels defined within carts, from one end of the tunnel to the other, to assure equal heat treatment of all containers in the batch of containers in each tunnel. The carts may either be non-agitating or agitating carts. One embodiment of the continuous pressure cooker and cooler includes a pressure vessel having two pressure locks to provide a pressure cooking chamber with high pressure cooling being performed in a mini-cooler defined by the outlet pressure lock followed by additional atmospheric cooling. Another embodiment of the invention comprises three pressure lock means to positively divide the pressure vessel into cooking and cooling chambers; and a third embodiment substitutes a plurality of baffles for the intermediate pressure lock thereby effectively dividing the pressure vessel into a cooking chamber and cooling chamber.

摘要: Cooling water at 39.degree. F is made available at low cost all year round by erecting towers in farmer's fields and spraying the water in the air around the towers to cool the water during the winter. The cooled water is collected and stored in a lake. During the summer the same towers and water spraying system is used to act as a permanent irrigation system with the water from the lake sprayed when needed on the farmer's crops. Since the users of the cold water from the lake for cooling water have to and can easily afford to pay for the whole system, which includes a very good drainage system, farmers will greatly profit and therefore greatly favor the installation of such a system on their farms. With such a system the installers and owners of such a system can put polluting substances, in the irrigation water, that normally cannot be dumped in rivers, and the farmer's fields will act as a cost-less area where bacteria break down most polluting substances such as most industrial chemicals and sewage liquids.Electric lights can be installed on the towers and the farmers fields can be illuminated during the night and the crop yields increased by 10 to 25 percent, additionally.

摘要: An system and method for cooling of electronic equipment, for example a computer system, in a subsurface environment including a containment vessel in at least partial contact with subsurface liquid or solid material. The containment vessel may be disposed in a variety of subsurface environments, including boreholes, man-made excavations, subterranean caves, as well as ponds, lakes, reservoirs, oceans, or other bodies of water. The containment vessel may be installed with a subsurface configuration allowing for human access for maintenance and modification. Cooling is achieved by one or more fluids circulating inside and/or outside the containment vessel, with a variety of configurations of electronic devices disposed within the containment vessel. The circulating fluid(s) may be cooled in place by thermal conduction or by active transfer of the fluid(s) out of the containment vessel to an external heat exchange mechanism, then back into the containment vessel.
