Abstract: According to one embodiment, a structure evaluation system includes at least three or more sensors, a position locator, and an evaluator. The three or more sensors are arranged on surfaces different from a surface to which an impact is applied with respect to a structure at different intervals in a first direction of the structure and a second direction orthogonal to the first direction and detects elastic waves generated from the structure. The position locator locates a position of a source in which the elastic waves are generated on the basis of the elastic waves detected by each of the three or more sensors. The evaluator evaluates a deterioration state of the structure on the basis of information based on a position location process of the position locator and information indicating a position where the impact is applied.

Abstract: A shock testing machine including: a carriage for holding a component to be tested, the carriage being configured to be movable in a linear direction along one or more elongated rails; a drum rotatable on a shaft, the drum having a circumferential surface; a cable having one end connected to the carriage and an other end connected to the drum; a motor having an output connected to the shaft to rotate the drum under the motive power of the motor to wind the cable on the circumferential surface of the drum; and a clutch disposed in a power train operatively connecting the motor to the drum, the clutch having a disengaged state and an engaged state. Where the motor is controlled to disengage the clutch while the motor reaches a predetermined rotational speed or predetermined rotational torque and to engage the clutch when the motor reaches the predetermined rotational speed or predetermined rotational torque to accelerate the carriage and component to be tested in the linear direction.

Abstract: In a wedge looseness diagnosis which is performed by striking wedges of a rotary electric machine, a variation of a wave form of a strike sound is reduced with respect to a variation of an amount of looseness of the wedges, and it is difficult that a slight difference of the amount of the looseness of the wedges is discriminated, so that the wedges are struck by a strike portion in a state where the wedges are pressed by a pressure portion which presses the wedges, and a strike sound at a high frequency is reduced, whereby an amount of a variation of magnitude of the strike sound is enlarged with respect to a valuation of the amount of the looseness of the wedges, and the amount of the looseness of the wedges is judged in accordance with the strike sound which is obtained by a strike sound measuring portion.

Abstract: In one aspect, a method for conducting a drop test of an article with one or more target parameters can include dropping the article and a drop carriage of a drop tower from an initial height with respect to a base of the drop tower for an initial drop test. The method can include detecting accelerometer data with respect to the article for an initial impact between the drop carriage and the base of the drop tower; determining a constant energy balance curve; determining, based on the constant energy balance curve and a target pulse duration, a target complex stiffness and/or a target total weight; adjusting, based on the target complex stiffness or the target total weight, the complex stiffness and/or the total weight for a subsequent drop test; and conducting the subsequent drop test.

Movement of the carriage assembly in the first direction urges the catch to disengage from the control rail, and movement of the carriage assembly in the second direction urges the catch to engage the control rail.
