    摘要: A method for managing a print queue over a computer network. The network generally includes at least one user interface, a network server, and at least one print server. The user interface uses a web browser or other mechanism to allow a user to communicate with the network server and the print server. Initially, the user directs the web browser to the network server and chooses a print server. The network server, using device management software, identifies the operating system of the print server and selects a print manager compatible with that operating system. The network server then installs and executes the selected print manager on the print server. Finally, the network server redirects the web browser on the user interface to the print manager on the print server allowing the user to manage a print queue for the print server.

    摘要: An image can be outputted with a high sharpness without deteriorating a resolution. In order to output an image of a high picture quality while suppressing the occurrence of a moire, an exposure amount is modulated in accordance with pixel density information of the image divided into pixels of a predetermined size by an exposure amount modulating unit in a light scanning unit, thereby expressing an image dark/light state. In this case, in a highlight density region in which a pixel density is equal to or less than ⅓ of the maximum image density, the density data of two adjoining pixels is modulated by one pixel and the other pixel is not recorded. In a density region in which the image density lies within a range from ⅓ to ½ of the maximum image density, a part of the density data of one of the two adjoining pixels is transposed to the other pixel. In a density region in which the image density is equal to or larger than ½ of the maximum density, the pixel transposition is not performed.

    摘要: Trapping is a method well known in the graphical arts industry, and provides a remedy for color misregistration defects on printed images. The general technique of trapping involves the placement of a small patches of colored pixels at the edges of colored objects, such that the color associated with these patches appears neutral to the human eye relative to the original colors present. The technique of trapping, however, assumes the objects being trapped are much larger in dimension than the trap zone itself. For small objects, a visible hue shift relative to the original color may occur as a result of the trapping operation. For run length encoded data, the remedy for this is a method that determines the object size by inspecting the run length of a run to be trapped in the fast scan direction, and counting the number of runs above or below that run with an identical color. If the object size is determined to be greater than a specified number of pixels, the trapping operation is performed; otherwise it is suppressed.

    摘要: An inventory control and identification apparatus uses a storage space with a plurality of inventory items. Identification labels are positioned in physical correspondence with the inventory items. Each of the identification labels provides a unit and an LCD label. The label is enabled with an electronic pictorial display for identification of the inventory. A coordinate network of further units are set in a fixed position relative to the storage space and are enabled for wireless communication with the identification labels. A data processer is enabled for wireless communication with the coordinate network and the identificaton labels so as to remotely change the displays on the labels and to identify the locations of the labels.
