摘要： In various embodiments, RFID events are stored in a normalized format on mobile device configured by metadata pushed by a centralized data hub. RFID events are pre-processes with filtering logic by a mobile interrogator/reader before being inserted into tables of a local relational database on the mobile device when the mobile device cannot otherwise communicate collected events to the centralized data hub. The metadata provides a simple, efficient, and standard interface for persisting the RFID events such that local access from applications on the mobile device is provided.

摘要： An information providing or processing system and method is disclosed which can provide information conforming to liking of a user to the user. If the user brings a contactless IC card, in which a user ID of the user is stored, close to a contactless IC tag mounted on a favorite commodity in a selling agent, then the contactless IC card acquires and stores a commodity ID stored in the contactless IC tag. Then, if the user brings the contactless IC card close to an information providing apparatus, then the information providing apparatus acquires the user ID and the commodity ID from the contactless IC card. Thereafter, the information providing apparatus acquires user information corresponding to the user ID from a customer information management server and acquires commodity information corresponding to the commodity ID from a commodity information management server. Then, the information providing apparatus produces and displays provision information conforming to the liking of the user. The invention can be applied to a system which utilizes an IC card.

摘要： A customer information terminal system having a docking member for supporting a data collection device on a shopping cart, wall or the like. The docking member is dimensioned to receive the data collection device and allow for convenient storage thereof during and after use. The data collection device may take any number of forms, including a consumer assistant data terminal, a pen based data terminal, a scanning gun terminal or the like, and may communicate with a host computer system storing customer shopping data. The docking member may provide one or more degrees of movement, so that the data collection device may be situated in a convenient position. An interlock switch may also be provided to allow for the alternative selection of power sources. When the data collection device is located remote from the docking member, the interlock switch causes the device to be powered by an internal power source. When the data collection device is situated in the docking member the interlock switch causes the device to be powered by an external power source. In addition, the external power source can be used to charge the internal power source.
