Abstract: A process for recovery of lithium ions from a lithium-bearing brine includes contacting the lithium-bearing brine with a lithium ion sieve (where that LIS includes an oxide of titanium or niobium) in a first stirred reactor to form a lithium ion complex with the lithium ion sieve, and decomplexing the lithium ion from the lithium ion sieve in a second stirred reactor to form the lithium ion sieve and an acidic lithium salt eluate.

Abstract: The invention relates to the chemical industry and can be used for processing methane and other volatile, liquid, solid fusible hydrocarbons when producing hydrogen, soot, and other flammable gases. The invention relates to a method for the pyrolytic decomposition of hydrocarbons, in which a pyrolysis reactor arranged in a space bounded by a lining is heated by flue gases generated by combusting a hydrogen-enriched mixture of air and gaseous hydrocarbons, while ensuring a maximum decrease in CO2 emissions into the atmosphere. The invention also relates to a unit for the pyrolytic decomposition of hydrocarbons. The technical result is a high degree of separation of hydrogen and carbon by fast high-temperature pyrolysis at atmospheric pressure without oxygen supply and without CO2 production.

Abstract: A hydrocarbon feed stream, particularly one comprising heavier hydrocarbons, may be converted to valuable products such as motor gasoline and/or lubricating oil by employing one or more large pore zeolitic catalysts, which may be prepared from a precursor zeolite. In some examples, a large pore zeolitic catalyst may be utilized to selectively reduce the endpoint of a hydrocarbon composition.

Abstract: An apparatus for the production of solid dosage forms is presented, wherein the apparatus comprises a material processing chamber which is operable for manufacturing a product according to a pre-set product formation process path. The apparatus has at least one sensor for continuously monitoring formation of the product in the material processing chamber during the product formation process non-invasively in real time by sensing at least one product functional attribute value and a means for comparing each sensed product functional attribute value with a desirable product functional attribute value for that point on the product formation process path. A controller controls operation of the material processing chamber in response to the sensed product functional attribute value for maintaining the product on the product formation process path.

Abstract: The invention relates to a process for producing energy products, notably fuel, by catalytic cracking of a hydrocarbon-based solid material without coke formation, in which a cracking dispersion (40) is heated, said dispersion comprising: a solid material (1) in divided form containing at least one hydrocarbon-based compound; a liquid (30) which is inert with respect to catalytic cracking; so that the cracking dispersion (40) reaches a temperature suitable for allowing catalytic cracking of at least one hydrocarbon-based compound; characterized in that the cracking temperature is reached by mixing an amount of cracking dispersion (40) and an amount of inert liquid (30) brought to a temperature above the cracking temperature, such that the mixture formed reaches a temperature above the cracking temperature and below the temperature for formation of coke, dioxin and furan. The invention also relates to a device for performing such a process.

Abstract: A feed distribution apparatus and method of using such an apparatus are provided for introducing a three-phase flow into a moving bed reactor that is operated under co-current flow conditions. The feed distribution apparatus can allow for separate introduction of liquid and solids in a manner that allows for even distribution of liquid within the solids. The gas portion of the flow can be introduced in any of a variety of convenient manners for distributing gas into a liquid or solid flow.
