    摘要: The injection molding of brushes, particularly miniature brushes such as for the application of cosmetics, is carried out in a mold in which each of the cavities defining the bristles is defined by a plain surface of one mold piece and a grooved surface of another mold piece. The mold pieces are clamped together and a brush is formed by injection molding. An ejector rod facilitates removal of the molded brush from the mold, thus making it unnecessary to separate the mold pieces to remove the molded brush. However, the mold pieces may be unclamped and separated to allow the mold to be cleaned of foreign matter or broken bristles.

    摘要: An improvement in the method of operating a molding apparatus for use in molding plastic and other materials is provided. The inner mold surfaces of the apparatus are flooded, during operation, with a dehumidified gas such as dry air to minimize condensation of moisture onto these surfaces. This dry air forms a field in the area of the mold surfaces to keep out the normally moist ambient air. The field is exhausted and recirculated to the supply source where it is regenerated and returned to the area of the mold surfaces. In this way, a continuous concentration of dry air is maintained in contact with the mold surfaces. One or more dry air curtains are also established around the dry air field to prohibit moist air from entering the field. The air curtain may be established from the same supply source as the dry field or from a separate source and may also be recirculated. A cloud of dry gas may be emitted outside of the air curtains to further inhibit the flow of moist ambient air to the mold surfaces.

    摘要: A system for producing precast manhole bases including an apparatus consisting of a mold jacket defining vertical walls and a mold form disposed within the jacket. The form includes the central portion spaced inwardly from the jacket and channel forming members extending over the central portion with inserts attached to the channel forming members and extending into contact with the jacket walls. When concrete is poured over the mold form and allowed to solidify, the walls of the manhole base form between the jacket walls and the mold form. The vertical walls of the base form between the jacket and the central portion, and the bottom wall of the base forms over the central portion with the channel forming members defining the channels in the bottom wall of the base. The inserts result in openings through the base walls in communication with the channels. The channel forming members consist of a first member attachable in a fixed position on the central portion, this first channel forming member being shaped for defining effluent channel and a central basin in the mold base. The channel forming members further include one or more members extending radially from the basin. These radially extending members include locking means for fixing the members in any desired position relative to the basin, and bracket means are provided for attaching the inserts to the radially extending members.

    摘要: A casting station in an installation for making concrete components, in which molds having hinged side walls are successively conveyed to the casting stations with the walls held in an upright position without using locking devices. The station is provided with a row of clamping hooks at each side of the mold when located on transverse vibration beams, and said hooks are lifted from a lower outwardly inclined position into an upper upright position in which the upper ends of the clamping hooks are brought into position over a protruding part of the side walls, upon which the hooks are lowered under pressure whereby the walls are locked to the mold bottom and the mold and the vibration beams are connected into a rigid unit during the subsequent pouring and vibration operation. When the casting has been completed the mold is released by moving the clamping hooks in the opposite sequence.
