Abstract:
A retaining wall block having a false joint and a system of retaining wall blocks. The retaining wall block includes a body having a first textured surface and a second textured surface and a false joint dividing the first and second textured surface. The false joint can have a depth divided by the width greater than two inches. The false joint can have an interior angle of less than ten degrees. The system includes a plurality of retaining wall blocks and a first course of retaining wall blocks engaged with a second course of retaining wall blocks below. Each block in the system comprising a front face having a first textured surface and a second textured surface and a false joint dividing the first and second textured surface. The false joint can extend a predetermined depth of a third surface.
Abstract:
A multi-zone cementitious product, which includes a base zone made of a first cementitious material composition and forming a portion of the product. At least one facing zone is adjacent to and bonded to the base zone, the facing zone made of a second cementitious material composition and forming at least one exterior face of said product which is visible when the product is installed. A disrupted boundary layer is between the facing zone and the base zone, and includes material from both the facing zone and the base zone. The disrupted boundary layer bonds the facing zone to the base zone. The facing zone has a thickness sufficient to prevent the base zone from being visible when the product is installed.

Abstract:
The present disclosure generally relates to integrated core-shell investment casting molds that provide a filament structure corresponding to a cooling hole pattern in the surface of the turbine blade, stator vane, or shroud. The disclosure also relates to the forming of a ceramic coating on at least a portion of the shell of the core-shell casting mold.
Abstract:
A near-net shape cutting tool has a main cooling passage along a longitudinal axis of the near-net shape cutting tool and at least one arcuate cooling channel having a first end and a second end, the first end in fluid communication with the main cooling passage, the second end spaced from the main cooling passage and providing a coolant exit in one or both of a radial surface and an axial surface of the near-net shape cutting tool.
Abstract:
Crucible compositions and methods of using the crucible compositions to melt titanium and titanium alloys. More specifically, crucible compositions having extrinsic facecoats comprising a rare earth oxide that are effective for melting titanium and titanium alloys for use in casting titanium-containing articles. Further embodiments are titanium-containing articles made from the titanium and titanium alloys melted in the crucible compositions. Another embodiment is a crucible curing device and methods of use thereof.
Abstract:
A method for arranging engagement means in a concrete body. These engagement means can come into contact with securing means, resulting in a coupling of considerable strength between the concrete part and the securing means. The engagement means may comprise a screw thread, bayonet-like structure or the like arranged in the concrete. However, it is also possible for the engagement means to be designed as a separate component which is placed into the concrete material. This separate component is then provided with the engagement means proper in that it is provided with a screw thread, bayonet catch or the like. In this way, it is possible to secure construction parts to the concrete part, to hoist the concrete part and to carry out further actions with this part. It is also possible to adjust the concrete part with the aid of adjustment bolts which engage in the engagement means.
Abstract:
A casted concrete stone having opposed parallel surfaces formed in a mold and wherein the opposed parallel surfaces have a molded textured surface. The concrete stone is fabricated by a dry-cast concrete mold wherein a profiling plate is provided with mold bottom wall formations each having a textured outer surface. A bond release film or spray or permanent coating is provided on the textured outer surface of the mold bottom wall formations. Mold forming side walls are disposed about the mold bottom wall formations. After the mold is filled with a dry-cast concrete mixture a top plate, having mold top wall formations, is disposed over the mold forming side walls with the mold top wall formations disposed inside respective ones of the molds to close the molds. Pressure and vibration is applied to compact the dry-cast concrete whereby to form a dry-cast concrete stone with opposed molded textured surfaces.
Abstract:
A method for forming a masonry unit that includes joining a pallet to a bottom surface of a mold, inserting a filler plug into the side of the mold between a partition plate and a pallet, dispensing mix into the mold, and compressing the mix with a shoe to form a masonry unit with a filler plug effect.
Abstract:
In connection with casting concrete blocks with cavities, e.g. foundation blocks, perforated blocks and elements with cavities, a moulding equipment including a bottom part (4) with casting cells with pendant core members (8) bolted on corresponding to the shape of the concrete block, and a top part (14) which have pressing plates (20) projecting downwards on support rods (18) and substantially corresponding to the shape of the casting cells, and so that the pressing plates (20) by stripping the items by vertical displacement of the bottom part (4) are passed down through the casting cells (6). By the invention is indicated a bottom part (4) that include means in the form of core members (8) bolted on, forming the defined cavities in the finished block/element. The core members (8) may either be releasably bolted onto the top plate (10) of the bottom part, or, alternatively, be suspended from a yoke (12) which is releasably fastened to the mould frame, and between the mould frame and the yoke there may be a vibration dampening shim. Core members (8) may furthermore be bolted on with a vibration dampening or compact shim (2).
