摘要: An automated warehouse system with a simple configuration allowing for deployment of a shield wall is provided. The automated warehouse system includes a rack including a plurality of floors each including a plurality of floor panels. The floors permit travel of the transportation robot along surfaces of the floors. The plurality of floors are divided into a first section and a second section spaced with a gap in between. A retreat mechanism establishes a first configuration to be located in the gap to permit the transportation robot to travel between the first section and the second section and a second configuration to retreat from the gap to unclose the gap. When the retreat mechanism establishes the second configuration, a shield wall becomes receivable into the gap, the shield wall shielding the first section and the second section from each other.

摘要: A storage system includes a first region and a second region of a rail system. Each of the first region and the second region has rails with a profiled upper surface that define one or more tracks for supporting container handling vehicles, and each rail of at least one pair of parallel rails of the first region is connected to a corresponding rail of a pair of rails of the second region via an expansion joint. The expansion joint includes a first rail element, a second rail element, and a profiled upper surface. The rail elements are elongate and configured at a first end to allow the first ends of the first and second rail elements to move relative to one another in a longitudinal direction in a junction area where they overlap. The profiled upper surface defines one or more tracks. The tracks extend from the first rail element through the junction area to the second rail element. A second end of the first rail element is pivotably connected to the first region of the rail system around a first vertical axis. A second end of the second rail element is pivotably connected to the second region of the rail system around a second vertical axis.

摘要: A suspended automation system includes a rail array secured to a ceiling. A gantry moves in an X-Y plane defined by the rail array with a drive mechanism. A controller with a human user interface allows for selective movement of the gantry to transport, and in some instances store or manipulate articles. A motorized rotating platform and one or more of a robotic arm, a camera, or a counter-balance are added to the platform to facilitate storage and manipulation, as well as actions in the area below the ceiling. A rail array in some embodiments is equipped with storage modules located above the rail array that can take a variety of shapes, sizes, and configurations for storage of an article, including a stack. A related process of article movement can be accomplished by the suspended automation system. Another related process is overhead storage and selective delivery of an article.

摘要: An assembly is for handling goods holders, such as storage containers, storage trays, and/or storage pallets, of an automated storage and retrieval system. The assembly includes a base body, a lifting frame, a gripper, and at least one connecting element. The base body is for connection to a lifting device for vertical transportation of the goods holders in a storage column. The lifting frame has a central opening, and is arranged at a vertical distance below said base body. The gripper is associated with the lifting frame and for engaging with the goods holder. The at least one connecting element is for connecting the lifting frame and the base body. The vertical distance between the lifting frame and the base body is variable.

摘要: A container handling vehicle includes a lower part and an upper part. The lower part includes a width and a length that form a vehicle footprint of the container handling vehicle; and a storage space configured to accommodate a storage container. The lower part includes a first set of wheels oriented in a first vertical plane and a second set of wheels oriented in a second vertical plane orthogonal to the first vertical plane. The lower part includes a first set of vertical side walls that are co-planar to the first vertical plane, and a second set of vertical side walls that are co-planar to the second vertical plane. The first set of wheels, the second set of wheels, the first set of vertical side walls, and the second set of vertical side walls are arranged such that the lower part of the container handling vehicle has a cuboid shape. The upper part is disposed vertically above the lower part, and includes a protruding section and a recessed section. The protruding section is configured to extend beyond the lower part. The recessed section has a shape complimentary to the protruding section such that the recessed section is configured to receive other protruding sections of other container handling vehicles.
