摘要: A plural output differential drive system provides plural outputs that are differentially related to each other. Four or more output shafts are driven from a single input shaft, each output shaft being differentially linked with the other output shafts. The entire differential drive arrangement may be expanded to any number of outputs, and is contained within a single housing. The output shafts of the plural output differential will transfer power in applications wherein a predetermined distribution of torque is required at four or more outputs, irrespective of their speeds. All the outputs are coupled as a series of all epicyclic differentiating mechanisms, or a series of epicyclic and bevel differentiating mechanisms. N outputs are achieved by introducing multiple epicyclic gear mechanisms. The input shaft may be arranged to be coaxial with the output shafts, or may be at any other angle, including orthogonal thereto. Typical applications include powering four or more live axles on vehicles, providing rotary power for developing equal or predeterminably proportional torques for simultaneously tightening multiple bolts, and generating equal forces on the gripper fingers of robotic hands. In addition, the outputs can be applied to leveling devices where four or more legs must apply equal pressures on a surface.

摘要: A planetary transmission for selectively shifting among three forward and one reverse speeds includes first and second sun gears respectively secured to and clutchable to a drive shaft to provide a first forward speed. A planet carrier, secured to a driven shaft, surrounds the sun gears and carries a first planet gear meshing with the first sun gear and a compound planet gear comprising a second planet gear meshing with the first planet gear and a third planet gear meshing with the second sun gear. Respectively concentric with the first and second sun gears are brake-associated first and second ring gears which respectively mesh with the first and third planet gears. First, second, and third brakes are respectively connected to the first ring gear, the second ring gear, and the first sun gear to stop and allow rotation of said gears to provide two forward and one reverse speeds; a third forward speed is provided by clutching the second sun gear to the drive shaft.

摘要: A transmission for automatically changing a gear ratio into three forward gear ratios and one reverse gear ratio which has three planetary sun gears mounted on an input shaft (main shaft), each having different numbers of teeth, planetary pinion groups mounted on said planetary pinion pins (sub shafts) and engaged with the planetary sun gears, respectively, so as to rotate around respective planetary pinion pins, planetary carriers supporting planetary pinion pins and enabling the planetary pinion groups to rotate around an axis of the planetary sun gears, and forward and reverse locking means, wherein the input shaft is connected to a planetary low sun gear while the planetary carriers are locked by the forward locking means to obtain a normal first reduction speed; in the same state as the planetary carriers remain locked, the input shaft is connected to a planetary second sun gear to obtain a normal second reduction speed; by allowing the planetary carriers to rotate, the input shaft is connected to a planetary output sun gear which is connected to an output shaft to obtain the final normal directcoupling drive; and the input shaft is connected to the planetary low sun gear, at the same time, the planetary second sun gear is locked by the reverse locking means to obtain the reverse reduction speed.

摘要: A multi-speed clutch-damper assembly for selectively connecting an output of a power-source to an input of a transmission includes a planetary gear-set. The planetary gear-set is encased in a housing and configured to provide two selectable speed ratios and a damper between the power-source output and the transmission input. The planetary gear-set includes first, second, and third gear members. The second gear member is configured to be connected to the transmission input and the third gear member is configured to be selectively fixed to the housing. The planetary gear-set also includes an elastic element operatively connected to the second gear member and configured to generate torsional vibration damping between the output of the power-source and the input of the transmission. The clutch-damper assembly also includes a first clutch configured to selectively connect the power-source output to the first gear member for transmitting torque of the power-source to the transmission.

The transmission is capable of changing the speed ratio between the input shaft and the output shaft by selective engagement of the clutch assembly against the ring gear which can cause either the freeing or locking of the planetary carrier by the overrunning clutch.
