Abstract: The invention relates to a process of freezing an organic product using a freezing device. The process includes introducing an organic product inside a tank of the freezing device containing a freezing solvent set to a predefined temperature. The freezing solvent is an alcohol/aqueous based solution including at least one inhibitor. Nitrogen is passed in a form of bubbles into the freezing solvent through a gas permeable structure placed inside the tank. The freezing solvent is circulated from the tank, through a liquid transmission means and back into the tank using a pump to maintain the freezing solvent at the predefined temperature. The freezing solvent is agitated using at least one agitator placed within the tank. The steps of passing nitrogen, circulating and agitating the freezing solvent are performed until a core temperature of the organic product reaches the predefined temperature.

Abstract: A system includes a heat exchanger mounted to the brackets and receiving cryogen, the heat exchanger having a vertical inlet coupled in parallel to a plurality of equal size horizontal tubes each traversing a width of the heat exchanger and further coupled in parallel to a vertical outlet pipe with an outlet diameter at least twice an inlet tube diameter; a temperature sensor; a thermostat that monitors the temperature sensor and maintains a predetermined temperature set point by communicating with a solenoid valve coupled to the heat exchanger; an exhaust line coupled to the outlet pipe that expels exhaust gas outside the enclosed facility; multiple fans attached to the heat exchanger; and a fail-safe oxygen sensor to protect a biological object in the enclosed facility.

Abstract: An automated cryogenic storage system includes a freezer and an automation system to provide automated transfer of samples to and from the freezer. The freezer includes a bearing and a drive shaft though the freezer, the drive shaft being coupled to a rack carrier inside the freezer and adapted to be coupled to a motor. The automation module includes a rack puller that is automatically positioned above an access port of the freezer. The rack puller engages with a sample rack within the freezer, and elevates the rack into an insulating sleeve external to the freezer. From the insulating sleeve, samples can be added to and removed from the sample rack before it is returned to the freezer.

Abstract: A heat insulating vessel for a low temperature liquefied gas pump, which includes an inner tank configured to accommodate low temperature liquefied gas, an outer tank provided externally around the inner tank, and a low temperature liquefied gas pump disposed inside the inner tank. The outer tank has an outer tank upper part that is an upper end portion thereof, and an outer tank body other than the outer tank upper part. A lid structure having a heat-insulated structure detachably fitted into an upper part of the inner tank. The pump is fixed to the lid structure, and a suction pipe and a discharge pipe are insertedly fixed to the lid structure. A vacuum insulating layer is provided between the inner tank and the outer tank. With this heat insulating vessel for the low temperature liquefied gas pump, adiabaticity of the lid structure and maintainability of the pump are increased.

Abstract: A method including one or more steps of a procedure for preparing a microscopic sample (1) for a high-pressure freezing process is provided, wherein the sample (1) is provided using an arrangement comprising a middle plate (33) of a high-pressure freezing cartridge (30) and an incubation chamber (100), wherein the middle plate (33) is attached to a lower surface of a bottom (120) of the incubation chamber (100) by an adhesive and detachable from the incubation chamber (100) by effecting a relative movement between the middle plate (33) and the incubation chamber (100), wherein the sample (1) is provided on an enclosing element (37) which is fitted into an opening (36) of the middle plate (33), and wherein, when the sample (1) is to be subjected to the high-pressure freezing process, the relative movement between the middle plate (33) and the incubation chamber (100) is effected, thereby detaching the middle plate (33) with the sample (1) from the incubation chamber (100). Means to implement the method are also part of the present disclosure.
