摘要: A wiring harness comprises a first covered electric wire, and a second covered electric wire. The first covered electric wire comprises a first electric wire conductor made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy and an insulator covering the first electric wire conductor. The first electric wire conductor comprises a wire strand of a plurality of elemental wires twisted together, and has a flat portion where a cross-section of the wire strand intersecting an axial direction of the wire strand has a flat shape. The second covered electric wire comprises a second electric wire conductor made of copper or a copper alloy and an insulator covering the second electric wire conductor. The second electric wire conductor has a lower flatness and a smaller conductor cross-sectional area than the first electric wire conductor of the first covered electric wire.

摘要: A heat shield assembly is provided for shielding a wire harness that is associated with a sensor in communication with a heat source. The heat shield assembly includes a base plate having a primary aperture that is configured to allow passage of the wire harness therethrough. The primary aperture is disposed in alignment with a hole defined on a shroud of the heat source. The heat shield assembly also includes a pair of walls extending upwardly from a pair of opposite edges of the base plate. Further, the heat shield assembly also includes a pair of ledge members that extend laterally from a pair of first ends associated with the pair of walls. Furthermore, the heat shield assembly also includes a pair of thermal diverter plates that extend angularly from a pair of second ends associated with the pair of ledge members.

摘要: A thermal sleeve for protecting an electronic member connected to a wiring harness against exposure to heat, combination thereof, and method of construction thereof is provided. The thermal sleeve has a tubular member including a circumferentially continuous wall with an insulative inner layer bounding an inner cavity extending along a central longitudinal axis between open opposite ends and a reflective outer layer. The sleeve further includes a positioning member constructed of resilient, reflective metal material. The positioning member has a tubular portion and at least one resilient finger extending radially inwardly from the tubular portion for abutment with the wiring harness. The tubular portion is fixedly attached to one of the opposite ends of the wall of the tubular member.

摘要: Disclosed are cable types, including a type THHN cable, the cable types having a reduced surface coefficient of friction, and the method of manufacture thereof, in which the central conductor core and insulating layer are surrounded by a material containing nylon or thermosetting resin. A silicone based pulling lubricant for said cable, or alternatively, erucamide or stearyl erucamide for small cable gauge wire, is incorporated, by alternate methods, with the resin material from which the outer sheath is extruded, and is effective to reduce the required pulling force between the formed cable and a conduit during installation.

摘要: A communications cable is provided that includes a pair of twisted pair of wires, each coated with a fluoropolymer insulator. The twisted pair of wires is configured to carry a differential signal, such as a differential data signal and/or a differential power signal. The fluoropolymers are highly effective insulators and significantly reduce both the effects of internal and external electromagnetic interference while maintaining low cable attenuation, even when operating within a temperature range of −40° C. to 150° C.
