Abstract: A method of manufacturing an impeller includes attaching blades to a hub. The impeller includes the blades, the hub, and a shroud. The blades each include a tip, and the shroud includes an inner surface and at least one ring extending from the inner surface. The method also includes applying a brazing compound to the tips of the blades and to the inner surface of the shroud. The method includes inserting the blades and the hub into the shroud such that the tips of the blades press against the rings. The rings and the tips of the blades form an interference fit between the rings and the tips of the blades that maintains a consistent gap between the shroud and the blades during manufacture of the impeller. A compressor including the impeller is also disclosed.

Abstract: A cylinder head assembly for a compressor according to the present disclosure includes a valve plate and a cylinder head. The valve plate is configured to mount to a mounting surface of the compressor. The valve plate includes a suction chamber, a suction passage providing fluid communication between the suction chamber and a cylinder of the compressor, a suction valve seat through which the suction passage extends, and a discharge passage extending through the valve plate and defined by a discharge valve seat. The cylinder head at least partially covers the valve plate and defines a discharge chamber that is in selective fluid communication with the cylinder via the discharge passage. The cylinder head and the valve plate are formed together as a unitary body.

The shell member may define an enclosure having an internal cavity. The fan and the electronic component may be disposed within the internal cavity. The airflow deflector may include a base portion, a first leg, and a second leg. The first and second legs may be spaced apart from each other and extend from the base portion. The fan may force air against the base portion. A first portion of the air may flow from the base portion along the first leg. A second portion of the air may flow from the base portion along the second leg.

Abstract: A desired OFF period module is configured to determine a desired OFF period for a plurality of switches of a PFC circuit based on an input voltage and an output voltage. A blanking timer module is configured to output a blanking signal, set the blanking signal to a first state when a countdown timer is greater than zero, and set the blanking signal to a second state when the countdown timer reaches zero. A switching control module is configured to: transition a first switch of the plurality of switches from an ON state to an OFF state in response to (i) a measured current through an inductor of the PFC circuit being greater than a demanded current through the inductor and (ii) the blanking signal being in the second state; and maintain the first switch in the OFF state for the desired OFF period after the transition.

Abstract: A compressor may include a crankcase, a crankshaft, a piston, a discharge valve and a suction plenum. The crankcase defines a discharge plenum receiving working fluid at a first pressure. The crankshaft is disposed within the discharge plenum. The piston is drivingly connected to the crankshaft and reciprocatingly received in a cylinder. The piston and cylinder cooperate to define a compression chamber therebetween. The discharge valve may control fluid flow through a discharge passage between the compression chamber and the discharge plenum. The suction plenum may receive working fluid at a second pressure that is less than the first pressure. The suction plenum may provide working fluid at the second pressure to the compression chamber.

A first evaporator is configured to receive refrigerant from the condenser when a first control valve is open and transfer heat from air passing the first evaporator to the refrigerant within the first evaporator. A first blower is configured to blow air across the first evaporator to a first section of a cabin of the vehicle. A second evaporator is configured to receive refrigerant from the condenser when a second control valve is open and transfer heat from air passing the second evaporator to the refrigerant within the second evaporator. A second blower is configured to blow air across the second evaporator to a second section of the cabin of the vehicle.

Abstract: A compressor includes a shell, first and second scroll members, a fitting assembly and a valve assembly. The first scroll member includes a first end plate having a first spiral wrap extending therefrom. The second scroll member includes a second end plate having a second spiral wrap extending therefrom and an injection passage formed in the second end plate. The second spiral wrap is meshingly engaged with the first spiral wrap to form compression pockets. The injection passage is in fluid communication with the compression pockets. The fitting assembly is in fluid communication with the injection passage. The valve assembly coupled to one of the second scroll member and the fitting assembly and movable between a closed position in which fluid communication between the compression pockets and the suction chamber is prevented and an open position in which fluid communication between the compression pockets and the suction chamber is allowed.

Abstract: A monitoring system is disclosed for a heating, ventilation, or air conditioning (HVAC) system of a residential or commercial building. The monitoring system includes an evaporator unit device including a first current sensor that measures current supplied to a circulator blower. The measured current from the first current sensor is used to diagnose a problem with the circulator blower. The monitoring system includes a first temperature sensor that measures refrigerant temperature between a condenser and an expansion valve. The monitoring system includes a second temperature sensor that measures refrigerant temperature between an evaporator and a compressor. The monitoring system includes a condenser unit device that communicates with the evaporator unit device. The condenser unit device includes a second current sensor that measures current supplied to the compressor. The evaporator unit device transmits sensor data to a remote monitoring service over a data network.
