Abstract:
According to the present invention system and method, an assessment of IT resources is made utilizing a comprehensive approach to assess the relative strengths and weaknesses of IT departments and/or IT resources. One or more assessment professionals, perhaps utilizing (or replaced by) various software modules, formulate an assessment by combining information derived from series of personnel interviews, systems analysis, and acquisition of relevant internal and external data. This assessment is then manually, dynamically, or automatically generated utilizing one or more algorithms. A master scorecard can be used to track and score each of a number of categories related to IT. The raw scores may be (often automatically) subjected to one or more formulae to produce the final assessment.
Abstract:
A method of playing a predictions-based game based on a particular event, including inputting identification information into an electronic gaming system through a user interface, inputting prediction information into the electronic gaming system through the user interface, relaying the identification information and prediction information to a processing unit of a central management system that is adapted to operate the predictions-based game, monitoring the status of the particular event, determining whether the prediction information is in accordance with an outcome of the particular event at the processing unit, relaying results of the determining step to the electronic gaming system, and displaying the results on a display of the electronic gaming system.
Abstract:
A boot, such as a snowboard boot, having an outer shell including a flexible upper and a harness assembly disposed in the outer shell. The harness assembly wraps about a user's ankle, includes a plurality of cord keepers. A cord—for example, a lace or a stainless steel cable—slidably engages the cord keepers, for tightening the harness about the user's ankle. A tensioning mechanism such as a spool mechanism or a lace keeper is attached to the flexible upper and engages the cord, such that the user can releasably tension the cord. The cord extends through an aperture in the outer shell whereby the user can tighten or loosen the harness without removing the boot. In an embodiment, the tensioning mechanism is a lace locker fixedly attached to the shell tongue, wherein the tongue includes apertures disposed near the bottom of the lace locker to slidably accommodate the cord.
Abstract:
A method and system for an automated departure strategy from an automated system includes a track engine and an error engine. The track engine allows for the tracking and storing of one or more utterances spoken by a caller in response to one or more prompts. In addition, the track engine classifies each of the utterances with a confidence level. The error engine determines when one of the utterances initiates an error condition and transfers the caller to an operator on the occurrence of the error condition. In addition to transferring the caller to the operator, the error engine plays to the operator an error utterance, causing the error condition, and a preceding utterance, preceding the error utterance. Furthermore, the error engine populates an operator screen with information provided by the caller in the utterances for utterances classified with a high level of confidence.
Abstract:
Compounds according to formula I in which formula R1 and R2, which may be the same or different, represent halogen, (C1-C6)hydrocarbyl, optionally substituted with one or two hydroxyl group or one or more fluorine atoms, or, together with the carbon atom to which they are both attached, R1 and R2 form a (C3-C6)carbocyclic ring, or one of R1 and R2 taken together with R3 forms a direct bond, such that a triple bond is constituted, or R1 and R2 represent both hydrogen; R3 when not forming a direct bond with one of R1 and R2 represents hydrogen or (C1-C3)hydrocarbyl; X represents (E)-ethylene, (Z)-ethylene, ethynylene, or a bond; Y and Z independently represent hydrogen or methyl; the bond between C#16 and C#17 is depicted with a dotted line to illustrate that said bond may be either a single bond, in which case the projection of the ring substituent is beta, or a double bond; A represents hydroxyl, fluorine or hydrogen; B represents CH2 or H2; the configuration in the 3-position corresponds to the same configuration as in natural vitamin D3 (normal), or the configuration in the 3-position is opposite to that of natural vitamin D3 (epi); with the proviso that when X represents (E)-ethylene or (Z)-ethylene, one of R1 and R2 taken together with R3 may not form a direct bond, such that a triple bond is constituted; with the further proviso that when X represents a bond R1 and R2 are not hydrogen; with the further proviso that the compound of formula I is not 3(S)-hydroxy-9,10-secocholesta-5(Z),7(E),10(19),22(E),24-penta-ene; and prodrugs and stereo isomeric forms thereof are provided together with their use in therapy, and their use in the manufacture of medicaments.
Abstract:
The Paint Tester is used to determine if a painted surface is either oil or water base. A double ended pen-like container containing a substance which flows through the fibrous tips at each end of the container. One tip is white or light colored and the other is black or dark colored. Airtight snap on caps are-at each end of container. When a cap is removed from the appropriate colored fibrous tip and the tip rubbed against a painted surface identification will be completed for oil or water base paint NEW: 1. The device is easy to use. Remove the appropriate cap and rub the tip against the paint. No package to open or glass container to crush. 2. The device can be used twice at a minimum. A used tip could be reused for additional testing of contrasting colored paint. 3. The device is fast. Results instantaneous or within 5 seconds.
Abstract:
The subject invention pertains to a biodegradable matrix material which is provided in a form that can be wrapped around a body part, in combination or impregnated with an agent that can be delivered to treat a condition via the adventitial surface of a body part, the agent being in a form that can be taken up by the matrix material. These components are provided for use in the treatment of the condition, for example, by using a sealant to form a seal around the matrix material when impregnated with the agent.
Abstract:
This invention concerns an aluminum alloy container and lid for transportation and handling of perishable products. It combines the ability to provide improved temperature control for the product, and in addition is reusable, nestable and recyclable. This container is comprised of two components, the box and the lid. The box is made from three separate pieces. The bottom and two sides are formed from the same piece of material. The two ends are formed separately and each are welded to the bottom and two sides. The lid is made from two separate pieces, the lid plate and the interface bracket. All parts are made of light aluminum alloy.
Abstract:
A no kill device for use in tracking and hunting wild game that can be projected from a device, such as attached to an arrow shaft and shot from a bow. An encapsulated marking media with an energy absorbing receiver and a base is attached to an arrow shaft for use with a bow.
Abstract:
An integrated array of light sensitive pixels has a surface configured to receive the small particles within a distance effective for the particles to affect the pixel readout amplitude and where the pixels have an area on the order of the area of the small particles to be directly imaged. A collimated light source is provided for illuminating the integrated array. A video display receives an output from the pixels to provide an image of the small particles directly contacting the surface of the array.
