    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive configuration information identifying a set of sub-bands for receiving, via a set of reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs), a signal. The UE may receive, via a first RIS of the set of RISs, the signal in a first sub-band of the set of sub-bands. The UE may receive, via a second RIS of the set of RISs, the signal in a second sub-band of the set of sub-bands. The UE may transmit, based at least in part on receiving the signal, RIS information indicating at least one of: first RIS information regarding the first RIS, or second RIS information regarding the second RIS.     Abstract: In some implementations, a first ultra-wideband (UWB) device may determine a respective time offset for each scrambled timestamp sequence (STS) in a series of STS used for ranging in a UWB ranging session between the first UWB device and the second UWB device, wherein the respective time offset for each STS in the series of STS is determined in accordance with time offset information shared between the first UWB device and the second UWB device.     Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to transmit, to a base station via a reconfigurable surface at a first transmission occasion, a first reference signal associated with a first reflection matrix configuration used by the reconfigurable surface to reflect signals, the first reflection matrix configuration included within a set of reflection matrix configurations.     Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques support decoupled uplink and downlink communications via reconfigurable intelligent surfaces. Generally, the described techniques provide for using different passive network nodes for uplink and downlink communications. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, an indication of a first transmission configuration indicator state for downlink communications with the base station and a second transmission configuration indicator state for uplink communications with the base station. The UE may receive, from the base station via a first passive device (e.g., a first reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS)) associated with the first transmission configuration indicator state, a downlink message in a radio frame. The UE may transmit, to the base station via a second passive device (e.g., a second RIS) associated with the second transmission configuration indicator state, an uplink message in the radio frame.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A UE may receive, from a base station, an indication of a degree of UE loading for at least one of a set of reconfigurable reflective surfaces that are configured to assist in communications between the UE and the base station. The UE may select a reconfigurable reflective surface for use in the communications between the UE and the base station based on the degree of UE loading of the selected reconfigurable reflective surface, and transmit a signal to the base station via the selected reconfigurable reflective surface. In some cases, the UE may receive, from the base station, an indication for the UE to use a different reconfigurable reflective surface than the selected reconfigurable reflective surface, and may transmit a second signal to the base station via a second reconfigurable reflective surface based on the indication.
