Abstract:
In order to correct chromatic aberration accurately and read out a document original properly, an image reader apparatus includes a chromatic aberration correction chart, a CCD linear sensor, and a correction processing unit. A chromatic aberration correction chart includes a high reflectance portion and a low reflectance portion lower than the high reflectance portion. A CCD linear sensor receives light reflected from the chromatic aberration correction chart. A correction processing unit corrects chromatic aberration of image data according to a light receiving position in the photoelectric conversion unit receiving light of a first wavelength included in the reflected light from the chromatic aberration correction chart and a light receiving position in the photoelectric conversion unit receiving light of a second wavelength included in the reflected light from the chromatic aberration correction chart.
Abstract:
An image reading apparatus for reading a document has an image sensor unit, which is moved along a platen glass in a sub-scanning direction, mounting an LED, a light guide and a sensor. A white reference panel for use of shading correction is provided on the platen glass on the side thereof opposite the image sensor unit. Light shield plates are provided on the platen glass on the side facing the image sensor unit along both sides of the white reference panel.
Abstract:
It is an exemplified object of the present invention is to provide an image reading device and method that would realize a high-resolution image reading. The present invention connects to a movable optical system in a double-sided image readable device at least one of black and white references that a fixed side should referred to.
Abstract:
An automatic document feeder for a copier has the position for reading the image of an original fed by the automatic document feeder disposed near the rear edge of the original table of the copier. In this automatic document feeder, essential parts such as a pickup roller, etc., for feeding originals to the reading position of the original table are arranged concentratedly on the rear side of the copier. Therefore, the center of gravity of the automatic document feeder resides near the rear side of the copier. This automatic document feeder is hinged at the rear side of the copier so as to cover the top surface of the original table in an openable and closable manner. Accordingly, the automatic document feeder is opened and closed with respect to the top of the copier, at a pivot which resides on the rear side near the center of gravity thereof.
Abstract:
A recording apparatus in which a recording head for effecting recording on a recording medium can be carried on a carriage movable with a reading unit for performing an original reading operation carried thereon, including a white flat plate member removable provided at a location opposed to the reading unit and along an area in which the carriage is moved. A reading unit for use in a recording apparatus in which a recording head unit for effecting recording on a recording medium and the reading unit for reading the image of an original are selectively interchangeable relative to a reciprocally movable carrier, including original image reading means constituting a predetermined reading optical path entering and reflected by the surface of the original to read the image of the original, and a movable member having reference correction means for reading moved to a position on the reading optical path corresponding to the surface of the original when the carrier is in a predetermined position.
Abstract:
An image of the original document is read rapidly to effect quick production of the first copy even when the function of the shading correction and the function of the color/monochrome judgment operate. A waiting position P2 of a first slider 211 is located on the opposite side from a scan starting position P3 in reference to a reading area for the original document, and a location of a shading correction plate 206 is interposed between the reading area for the original document and the waiting position P2 of the first slider 211. While the first slider 211 is in the process of returning from the waiting position P2 to the scan starting position P3 for the preparation of reading the image of the original, a shading correction and a color/monochrome judgment are carried out for preventing the first slider 211 from having extra motion.
Abstract:
An image reading apparatus is provided with white reference sheets. The image reading image apparatus is movable between a first reading position at which an optical reading unit reads image information on a document supplied by an automatic paper feeding mechanism and a second reading position. The image reading apparatus regulates an absolute white level with respect to a light source.
Abstract:
A paper feed roller (5) is divided into a first roller (5a) and a second roller (5b); a slit (58) through which about 10 to 20 sheets of documents can pass is formed between the first roller and a gate plate (57) opposite to this; and the paper fed out therefrom is fed out to a space between the second roller (5b) and a separation pad (7) in contact with this. Also, there is adopted a construction in which the pressing force of a paper conveyance spring is transformed by a slide cam sliding in a direction parallel to the paper feed roller; and the paper width detection sensor is assembled by a fitting construction.

Abstract:
An input scanner provided with a document input, a sheet feeding path for transporting documents to a scanning station and to a document output; a scanning station having a first scanning element, fixed in position relative to the sheet feeding path, and a second scanning element, arranged at a home position for substantially simultaneous duplex scanning of sheets fed along the sheet feeding path, and which is also supported for movement past a scanning platen, each scanning element supporting a full width array of photosensitive sensors with a corresponding optical arrangement for directing light from the document to the sensors, there is provided a dual purpose calibration/baffle member, which in a first position serves as a paper baffle along the sheet feeding path to the scanning station to support sheets at the first scanning element, and in a second position, supports a calibration target at a position for detection by the first scanning element. The calibration/baffle member is mounted on the input scanner frame for movement between the first and second positions, and is provided with a bias arrangement which biases the calibration/baffle member for document scanning operation to the first position. The calibration/baffle member is arranged in the path of movement of the second scanning element, for engagement therewith to move the calibration/baffle member to the second position.
