Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication are provided. In an embodiment, a method of determining a set of communication parameters for a wireless communication includes transmitting, at an access point, one or more frames each including a transmission power indication, receiving, at the access point, a probe request using a first set of communication parameters; and transmitting, at the access point, a probe response using a second set of communication parameters, the second set of communication parameters based on the first set of communication parameters. In some aspects, each of the first and second set of communication parameters define a MCS, which defines a coding rate of the communication.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for multiple user uplink are provided. In one aspect, a method for wireless communication is provided. The method includes transmitting a clear to transmit (CTX) message to two or more stations, the CTX indicating an uplink transmission opportunity, the CTX message further comprising a request that the two or more stations concurrently transmit uplink data at a specific time. The method further includes receiving a plurality of uplink data from at least two stations at the specific time.
Abstract:
A method, apparatus, and non-transitory computer readable media configured to adaptively enable a request to send/clear to send protocol is disclosed herein. An embodiment may comprise identifying one or more rules including on one or more of a plurality of communication link characteristics of a plurality of communication links between an access point and one or more devices of a plurality of devices. An embodiment may further comprise selectively enabling the request to send/clear to send protocol between the access point and the one or more devices of the plurality of wireless devices based on whether each link characteristic of the one or more rules has satisfied a link characteristics threshold in each rule. In certain embodiments, a station or an access point may identify a rule and transmit the rule to other devices, stipulating one or more conditions which request to send/clear to send is to be used.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure present medium access control (MAC) protocols for uplink Spatial Division Multiple Access (SDMA) transmissions by one or more stations (STAs). An access point (AP) may receive one or more requests for uplink SDMA transmission from a plurality of stations. The access point may schedule the transmissions by sending a signal to the stations to notify them of the parameters of the uplink SDMA transmissions such as start time, duration of the transmission, spatial streams assigned to each station, and so on.
Abstract:
Systems and methods of clear channel assessment on a wireless network are disclosed. In one aspect, a method includes determining a clear channel assessment (CCA) threshold based on a first transmission bandwidth, performing a first back-off procedure based on the determined clear channel assessment threshold; and transmitting a first wireless message in response to a completion of the first back-off procedure.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide methods and apparatus for the coexistence of 1 MHz and 2 MHz operation modes within a wireless communication system in accordance with IEEE 802.11ah, for example. One example method generally includes scanning a plurality of channel pairs, wherein each of the channel pairs comprises a first channel having a first channel designation and a second channel having a second channel designation; determining, based on the scan, a set of open channels from the plurality of channel pairs in which no other apparatus is operating; selecting a primary channel based on the determination; and transmitting using the selected primary channel. The selection of the primary channel involves channel selection rules disclosed herein.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices for transmitting data are described herein. In some aspects, a method comprises generating a first message. The first message may comprise an allocation of a first station to a first frequency channel and a second station to a second frequency channel. The method further comprises transmitting the first message over the first frequency channel and the second frequency channel. The method further comprises transmitting, after transmission of the first message, a second message to the first station using the first frequency channel. The method further comprises transmitting, after transmission of the first message, a third message to the second station using the second frequency channel.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices for concurrently allowing station-to-station transmissions and access point-to-station transmissions are described herein. In some aspects, a method comprises transmitting, to an access point, a request for an available channel frequency. The method further comprises receiving a coordination message from the access point. The coordination message may indicate that a first frequency channel is allocated for transmissions between a first device and a second device and that a second frequency channel is allocated for transmissions between a third device and a fourth device. The method further comprises transmitting a first data packet to the fourth device using the second frequency channel concurrently with a transmission of a second data packet between the first device and the second device using the first frequency channel.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices for transmitting data are described herein. In some aspects, a method comprises generating a first packet. The first packet may comprise a physical layer and a media access control (MAC) layer. The MAC layer may allocate a first station to a primary frequency channel and a second station to a secondary frequency channel. The method further comprises transmitting the first packet to the first station and the second station. The method further comprises transmitting a second packet to the first station using the primary frequency channel. The method further comprises transmitting a third packet to the second station using the secondary frequency channel.
Abstract:
Systems and method for concurrent communication using high efficiency wifi are disclosed. One aspect is a method of transmitting a wireless message on a medium utilizing carrier sense multiple access (CSMA). The method includes receiving, via a first wireless device, at least a portion of a first wireless message from a second wireless device, the message including an indication of a basic service set of the second wireless device. The method also includes determining whether to defer transmission of a second wireless message based, at least in part, on the basic service set of the second wireless device.
