Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, a base station may dynamically and reliably indicate that pending transmissions are part of a full duplex operation via downlink control information (DCI) designs described herein. For example, a base station may transmit, to a user equipment (UE) a DCI including no more than one downlink grant and no more than one uplink grant for a full duplex operation. In some examples, the base station may transmit a first-stage DCI including partial information, and second-stage DCIs including full uplink and downlink grants for a full duplex operation. In some examples, the base station may configure periodic or semi-periodic uplink and downlink resources that may overlap in time, and may dynamically indicate, to the UE, whether the overlapping uplink and downlink resources are scheduled for a full duplex operation.

Abstract: A scheduling entity can configure semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) resources for downlink data and selectively receiving channel measurements and interference measurements from a user equipment. The scheduling entity can trigger the channel measurements and interference measurements using various methods including SPS configuration activation/reactivation/deactivation, DMRS based triggering, and DCI based triggering. The scheduling entity can benefit from more frequent and/or aperiodic interference and/or channel measurements in performing channel precoding, selecting a modulation and coding scheme (MCS), and estimating/predicting interference, noise, and channel quality at the UE. SPS configured channel and interference measurements also benefit the UE in data decoding that can result in a lower error ratio and higher data rate.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which a wideband bandwidth part (BWP) may be used for periodic communications bursts, and a user equipment (UE) may switch to a narrowband BWP between the communications bursts, which may provide reduced power consumption and reduced processing overhead at the UE. An end of burst indicator may be provided with the wideband BWP communications that indicates a timing for switching from the wideband BWP to the narrowband BWP. The end of burst indicator may be provided prior to a last downlink shared channel communication of the communications burst, and the UE may switch to the narrowband BWP upon completion of the last downlink shared channel communication. The UE may switch from the narrowband BWP to the wideband BWP for a subsequent communications burst autonomously or based on an explicit indication.

Abstract: Aspects described herein relate to interference mitigation for communication with muting via inter-cell coordination. In one example, a network entity such as a cell may identify a time or frequency resource allocated for communication with a user equipment (UE), and transmit, to a neighboring network entity, a muting message indicating that the time or frequency resource is occupied for communication. In another example, the network entity may receive, from a neighboring network entity, a muting message indicating that a time or frequency resource is occupied for communication. The network entity may further forgo scheduling of an uplink or downlink transmission to a UE on the indicated time or frequency resource. The network entity may further schedule data for uplink or downlink transmission with the UE on a different time or frequency resource.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may initiate a Type-1 or Type-2 random access procedure from a power saving mode, generate a channel state information (CSI) report and a buffer status report, and selectively multiplex the CSI report and BSR with mobile originated (MO) data in a random-access message of the random-access procedure. The UE may further transmit a request to remain in the power saving mode after finishing the transmission of the MO data. The configuration of random access and CSI reporting procedure depends on the UE type or UE capability supported by the network.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support feedback for mixed grant types. In a first aspect, a user equipment (UE) is configured to determine a threshold associated with a number of bits for feedback of one or more physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) grant types. The UE is further configured to transmit a feedback message including feedback information for one or more received PDSCHs associated with the one or more PDSCH grant types. A number of bits of the feedback information included in the feedback message for the one or more received PDSCHs associated with the one or more PDSCH grant types is less than or equal to the threshold. The UE may determine, based on the downlink configuration, an uplink configuration including a set of resources for transmitting scheduling requests at a set of scheduling request occasions. In some aspects, the set of scheduling request occasions may be arranged according to a non-uniform spacing pattern in the time domain. The UE may transmit, to a base station, one or more scheduling requests based on the uplink configuration.
