Abstract:
The invention relates in particular to an optical regeneration device for a signal carrying an item of information encoded by phase modulation of that signal, that signal being transmitted over an optical network and comprising a temporal succession of optical pulses. The device comprises an optical pulse nonlinear phase shift module, a linear pulse broadening module a linear pulse broadening module, and a module for the linear compensation of the broadening undergone by the pulses in the linear broadening module.
Abstract:
A method is provided for transmitting information concerning at least two persons. The method for transmitting information inside a group includes at least the following steps: obtaining emotional conditions associated with the persons; converting each of the emotional conditions into condition information; transmitting the condition information to emotion rendering device capable of associating with each person at least two predetermined conditions representative of at least two respective different emotional conditions.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method of managing a plurality of multimedia sessions involving user terminals connected to an access point of an IP network including at least one collection node when at least one audiovisual first session is in progress during which a first user terminal receives an audiovisual content encoded in the form of a plurality of SVC audiovisual streams via a link between said access point and said at least one collection node. The method of the invention receives a change request relating to a second session that is one of said plurality of sessions, recovers information relating to a context of said plurality of sessions, evaluates a new distribution of resources between said first session in progress and the second session, decides to accept or reject the change request as a function of the result of said evaluation and sends a message containing its decision. In the event of a positive decision, it commands adaptation of the transfer of the audiovisual content effected on said link during the first session by modifying a plurality of audiovisual streams to be transmitted.
Abstract:
To guarantee an average bit rate and a quality of service, instantaneous bit rates are assigned in a shared HSDPA downlink transport channel requested by a mobile in a CDMA network cell, and a range of signal-to-interference ratios is estimated as a function of a parameter representing the mobile location and the powers received by the mobile to associate therewith a range of instantaneous bit rates admissible in a time interval of the channel. A number of time intervals with instantaneous bit rates selected in the range during a reference period is determined so the average selected instantaneous bit rates over the reference period is substantially equal to the average bit rate. The time intervals are assigned to the mobile if it induces no extra load on the channel over the reference period.
Abstract:
Method of communication, on a radio channel, between at least two nodes (2) adapted for emitting on the said channel in an alternating manner, comprising the following steps, with a view to transmitting a data frame: formulation, by one of the two nodes, termed the emitter, of a signal (S) comprising a preamble comprising a series of frames, followed by the data frame, at least one first frame of the preamble comprising a copy of the data frame and indicating a number of frames of the preamble separating this first frame from the data frame; emission, by the emitter node, of the signal thus formulated on the radio channel.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a system enabling a member (M) of a group (G) to produce, by means of customized data (z; K), a message (m) accompanied by a signature (8) proving to a verifier that the message originates from a member of the group (G). The invention is characterized in that the customized data is in the form of an electronic physical medium (26). Advantageously, the latter also incorporates: encrypting means (B3) for producing a customized cipher (C) from the customized data prior to the signature S of the message (m), means (B5) for producing a combination of a message m to be signed and the cipher (C) associated with said message, for example in the form of a concatenation of the message (m) with the cipher (C), and means (B6) for signing (Sig) the message (m) with the customized data (z; K) in the form of a cipher (C) associated with said message. Advantageously, the physical medium is a smart card (26) or the like.
Abstract:
A system for providing consistency between the pronunciation of a word by a user and a confirmation pronunciation issued by a voice server (1), said voice server comprising both a voice recognition system (20) suitable for recognizing the pronunciation of the word by the user and for associating a text label therewith, and a speech synthesis system (30) suitable for issuing said confirmation pronunciation on the basis of said text label. The text label is a phonetic text label (21) constructed by concatenating the phonemes of the pronunciation as recognized by the voice recognition system (20).
Abstract:
A method is provided for configuring the service quality profile of a given flow at the access node of a packet communication network to which is connected to the gateway of a receiving user of the flow. The method includes a step where the gateway determines on its own a service quality profile to be associated with the flow, that is triggered upon reception of a packet from the access node, and a step where the service quality profile thus determined is sent to the access node. The profile is used by the access node for transmitting packets intended for the gateway and belonging to the flow in question.
Abstract:
Data associated with transmitted information over a communication network are transmitted. The data are divided into data groups. An information item representative of the importance of the data of the data group is associated with each data group. A transmission cycle for the data groups is determined. Each data group is inserted into the determined transmission cycle a number of times depending on the importance of the data of the data group.
Abstract:
A system for securing the access to a destination of a virtual private network (VPNA) connected to a nominal access router (PE3) includes at least one core router (P2) adapted to: detect a failure affecting communication with the nominal access router (PE3); and switch the traffic to a protector access router (PE6) in a back-up tunnel bypassing the nominal access router (PE3). The protector access router (PE6) is adapted: to replace, in an MPLS packet, a nominal VPN label specific to the nominal access router (PE3) by a back-up VPN label specific to a back-up access router (PE4) connected to that destination; and to redirect said packet to the back-up access router (PE4) in a tunnel bypassing the nominal access router (PE3).
