Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to acknowledgement/negative-acknowledgement (ACK/NACK) transmissions with different reliability levels are provided. A user equipment (UE) receives, from a base station (BS), a negative acknowledgement (NACK) transmission configuration. The UE receives, from the BS, a data transmission. The UE transmits, to the BS, a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) signal including a NACK for the data transmission based on the received NACK transmission configuration. Abstract: Some aspects of the present disclosure disclose methods and systems related to the use of a periodic reference signal to activate a secondary cell. For example, a user equipment may receive, from a base station on a primary cell, an activation command configured to activate a secondary cell. The user equipment may also receive, from the base station and on the primary cell, a signal indicating an availability of a periodic reference signal on the secondary cell, the periodic RS being for use in activating the secondary cell. The user equipment may then, in response to receiving the signal, perform a tracking function to activate the secondary cell.

Abstract: Mechanisms for rate matching a downlink communication channel in a multi-radio access technology (RAT) communication scenario are described. In one aspect, a method for wireless communication performed by a base station (BS) includes rate matching, based on a rate matching pattern indicating a plurality of reserved resource elements, a downlink (DL) communication channel. The method further includes transmitting, to a user equipment (UE) on one or more antenna ports, a DL communication in the rate matched DL communication channel. The method further includes transmitting, on the one or more antenna ports, one or more signals in the plurality of reserved resource elements. The one or more signals transmitted in the plurality of reserved resource elements may allow UEs associated with other RATs to estimate the rate matched DL communication channel.

Abstract: A UE may receive, from a serving cell, an activation indication for an SCell, receiving a first reference signal from the SCell, the first reference signal including at least one temporary reference signal, identify whether a second reference signal is received after processing the activation indication and before an expiration of an SCell activation time, and activate, upon identifying that the second reference signal is received, the SCell based on one or more reference signals including at least one of the first reference signal or the second reference signal. The UE may activate the SCell no later than in slot n+K, and K may be determined based on at least in part the SCell activation time.
