Abstract: An injector includes an injector body having an upper portion defining a top surface. An injector core is received through the upper portion. The injector core has an interfacing surface that is disposed adjacent and raised with respect to the top surface. A cover member is disposed on the upper portion of the injector body. The cover member has a top wall for receiving at least a portion of the injector core, a side wall extending from at least a portion of the top wall, and a lip that is adapted to be attached to the other of the side wall or the injector body through a snap-fit connection. Upon attachment of the lip to the other of the side wall or the injector body, the top wall of the cover member presses on the interfacing surface of the injector core to restrict an axial movement of the injector core relative to the injector body along the longitudinal axis.

Abstract: A cover system for a damper includes an outer tube and a piston rod extending from an end of the outer tube. The cover system also includes a dust tube disposed around a portion of the outer tube. The dust tube includes a first end located proximal to the end of the outer tube and a second end opposite to the first end. The dust tube at least partially encloses the piston rod. The cover system further includes a cap connected to the outer tube. The cap is adapted to at least partially cover the first end of the dust tube.

Abstract: A valve assembly for an exhaust system of a vehicle comprises a housing defining an inlet, an outlet, and a longitudinally extending exhaust gas passageway in fluid communication with the inlet and the outlet. The valve assembly further comprises a valve flap disposed in the housing and rotatable between a first position restricting exhaust gas flow through the exhaust gas passageway, and a second position whereat exhaust gas flow through the exhaust gas passageway is less restricted. A mass damper is disposed within the exhaust gas passageway and attached to the valve flap. The mass damper includes end portions and an intermediate portion disposed between the end portions with the intermediate portion having a thickness that is greater than a thickness of the end portions. The mass damper is positioned proximate an inner surface of the housing and positioned between the valve flap and the housing when the valve flap is at the second position.

Abstract: A damper including a damper tube, a piston assembly, a piston rod attached to the piston assembly, and a monolithic base. The piston assembly is slidingly disposed within the damper tube. The monolithic base includes a closed end, an open end, a base portion at the closed end, and a wall portion. The base portion is joined to and seals one end of the damper tube. The base portion includes a concave depression that tapers inwardly from a base portion perimeter to a cup bottom. The wall portion extends longitudinally from the base portion perimeter to the open end such that the cup bottom is positioned between opposing sides of the wall portion. Integrally formed fastening eyes are provided in the opposing sides of the wall portion.

Abstract: A fluid delivery system for an exhaust aftertreatment system includes a pump disposed within an outer housing. A filter assembly is in fluid communication with the pump and also disposed within the outer housing. A tubular filter medium is disposed within a pump housing. An elongated first compensation element is disposed within an elongated aperture of the filter medium. A support ring is associated with the pump housing and includes a plurality of flexible arms. Second and third compensation elements are also provided to contract in response to expansion of fluid within the pump housing due to freezing and expand in response to thawing of the fluid.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a subassembly for an exhaust treatment device includes providing a metal sheet including first and second apertures having respective first and second sizes, and a one-piece pipe including first and second linear portions having respective third and fourth sizes. The method further includes defining the first size based on a first difference between the first size and the third size being less than or equal to a predetermined value, and defining the second size based on manufacturing tolerances of the pipe to assure that the second linear portion will pass through the second aperture while the first linear portion passes through the first aperture. The method further includes fixing the first linear portion to the sheet, expanding the second linear portion from the fourth size to an enlarged size less than or equal to the predetermined value, and fixing the second linear portion to the sheet.

Abstract: An exhaust after-treatment system that is configured to treat an exhaust produced by an engine, and includes a bypass passage including an inlet for receiving an amount of the exhaust from an exhaust passage. A first exhaust treatment component is located within the bypass passage, and a valve is located proximate the bypass passage that is configured to control the amount of the exhaust that enters the inlet of the bypass passage. A second exhaust treatment component is located in the exhaust passage downstream from the inlet of the bypass passage, wherein an outlet of the bypass passage communicates the exhaust treated by the first exhaust treatment component back to the exhaust passage at a location that is downstream from the second exhaust treatment component such that the exhaust treated by the first exhaust treatment component does not interact with the second exhaust treatment component.
