Abstract:
The invention refers to a new system for packaging pharmaceutical compositions comprising active principles that may be administered intravenously, in particular it concerns a system for packaging in bottles which makes it possible to ensure the complete transfer of the content of the bottle into the liquid for intravenous infusion and at the same time prevent any accidental contact with the active principle by the health-care personnel preparing said intravenous infusion, and a complete kit for intravenous administration.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for combining two components. A first container accommodates the first component, which is liquid, and a second container accommodates a second, solid or liquid component under negative pressure. A body is provided with a first holder for the first container, in the region of the closure of the latter, and with a second holder for the second container, in the region of the closure of the latter. Displaceable means for piercing the closures are provided within the body. In the case of such a device, the invention provides that the body has two slides mounted in a displaceable manner in it, wherein each slide accommodates a cannula for piercing the respective closure, the cannulas are connected, in the region of their ends directed away from the closure, to an element which connects the cannulas in a liquid-tight manner, and actuating means are provided for moving the slides in the direction of the closures for the purpose of piercing the closures.
Abstract:
An injector system (100) for needleless, high pressure delivery of a medicament, the system comprising: an injector (102) having an injector piston (106) movable with in an injector body (104), a medicament container having a reservoir piston (119) movable in a reservoir (116), a fluid connection (118) interconnecting the injector body and an outlet (120) of the reservoir; and wherein the fluid connection is arranged such, with respect to the injector body, that upon movement of the reservoir piston towards a distal end, the medicament contained in the reservoir is pressurised whereby the injector piston is moved away from an initial position and the injector chamber is filled.
Abstract:
A method of regenerating tissue in a living organism. The method includes the act of contacting an affected area of the living organism with a solid-fibrin web, the solid-fibrin web comprising platelets that release growth factors about one minute after contact to regenerate the tissue in the living organism.
Abstract:
A drug mixing and expelling device (1) for mixing a drug with a liquid, thereby forming a reconstituted liquid drug. The device comprises a reservoir (2) containing a liquid, a vial (4) containing a drug, a vial, means (5) for establishing a fluid connection between the reservoir and a vial positioned in the vial adapter (3), means (7, 8) for forcing the liquid from the reservoir to a vial, and means (9) for activating said forcing means during establishment of the fluid connection between the reservoir and the vial. The forcing of liquid into the vial provides a pressure therein, which can be used for infusion of the reconstituted drug directly from the vial. The device also comprises a suction unit (13) for aspiration.
Abstract:
A system for removing or transferring a pharmaceutical product from a reservoir including an ampoule with a moveable piston therein and an adaptor which includes, generally along a longitudinal axis, a reservoir connector and an ampoule connector for coupling to the ampoule, wherein the ampoule connector includes at least one locking mechanism which, in a side wall, includes a resilient element generally corresponding to a portion of the side wall which extends along the periphery thereof and, at opposing ends, merges with the side wall.
Abstract:
Pressure equalizing device comprising a fluid container for attachment to a receptacle such as a vial to permit pressure equalization between the fluid container and the receptacle. The pressure equalizing device comprises a flow channel that is arranged to provide fluid communication into or out of the fluid container when the pressure equalizing device is attached to the receptacle. The pressure equalizing device also comprises a fluid inlet that contains a one-way valve that permits fluid to flow into the fluid container via said fluid inlet and that prevents fluid from flowing out of the fluid container via said fluid inlet and filter-receiving means that are arranged to permit fluid flowing into or out of the fluid container to be filtered when the filter-receiving means comprises a filter.
Abstract:
A reconstitution assembly includes: a flexible bag containing a diluent; a drug vial containing a drug; a reconstitution device further comprising: a first sleeve connected to the first container; a second sleeve connected to the second container, the second sleeve being associated with the first sleeve and movable axially with respect thereto from an inactivated position to an activated position; a piercing member positioned in the sleeves, the piercing member providing a fluid pathway between the bag and vial when the sleeves are in the activated position.
Abstract:
A system for removing or tranferring a pharmaceutical product from a reservoir including an ampoule with a moveable piston therein and an adaptor which includes, generally along a longitudinal axis, a reservoir connector and an ampoule connector for coupling to the ampoule, wherein the ampoule connector includes at least one locking mechanism which, in a side wall, includes a resilient element generally corresponding to a portion of the side wall which extends along the periphery thereof and, at opposing ends, merges with the side wall.
Abstract:
A fluid transfer device for transferring fluid from a first fluid container to a second fluid container such as a piercing member protection device. The fluid transfer device can comprise a longitudinal axis A and a first connection part comprising connection means for connecting to said first fluid container. The fluid transfer device can further comprise a second connection part rotatably mounted to the first connection part by mounting means, and the second connection part can further comprise connection means for connecting said second fluid container. The mounting means can enable turning of said second connection part with respect to said first connection part. Such a device can allow a user to safely turn e.g., a syringe after assembly to read a volume indication or similar.
