    Abstract: A method is performed at a server that manages embedded subscriber identity module (eSIM) profiles. The method includes, when a user equipment that belongs to a global enterprise network relocates from a first locale to a second locale in which a first private network and a second private network of the global enterprise network are located, wherein the user equipment includes a locale-specific first eSIM profile that includes a first non-public network identifier of the first private network, receiving, from the user equipment over a network in the second locale, information that indicates the user equipment is in the second locale. The method further includes identifying the second private network based on the information, and generating a locale-specific second eSIM profile that includes a second non-public network identifier for the second private network. The method includes configuring the user equipment with the locale-specific second eSIM profile.

    Abstract: In one illustrative example, a user plane function (UPF) configured for use in a private 5G network of an enterprise may receive, from a user device, a domain name system (DNS) query associated with an application; send, to a DNS server, one or more corresponding DNS queries based on the DNS query; receive, from the DNS server, one or more DNS query responses which include an IP address and metadata including an application identifier for the application; and send, to a control plane function, a message for reporting which includes the application identifier. In response, a dedicated Quality of Service (QoS) Flow may be created for traffic for the application according to a selected QoS policy associated with the application identifier. For obtaining the metadata, the UPF may interact with a DNS server configured with Extension mechanisms for DNS (EDNS) or a DNS as Authoritative Source (DNS-AS) mechanism.

    Abstract: Techniques are described to provide multipath mobility via Domain Name System-as-an-Authoritative Source (DNS-AS) techniques. In one example, a method includes obtaining, by a multipath policy decision element, a plurality of multipath policy recommendations for an application, wherein the plurality of multipath policy recommendations are obtained from one or more multipath policy recommendation elements; combining the plurality of multipath policy recommendations to generate a policy enforcement decision, wherein the policy enforcement decision identifies, at least in part, one or more network paths that are to be utilized for one or more packet flows associated with the application, wherein each of the one or more network paths is associated with an access type; and enforcing the policy enforcement decision for one or more packet flows associated with the application.

    Abstract: Presented herein are techniques to facilitate enforcing unique handover trigger thresholds for user equipment (UE) based on UE identity and/or UE group type. In one instance, a method is provided that may include provisioning a plurality of handover profiles for a plurality of user equipment for a mobile network in which each corresponding handover profile includes a profile identifier and one or more handover thresholds. The method may further include determining that a particular user equipment seeks a connection to the mobile network; identifying a particular handover profile for the particular user equipment, wherein the particular handover profile includes a particular profile identifier; providing the particular profile identifier to a radio access network node of the mobile network; identifying one or more particular handover thresholds for the particular user equipment based on the particular profile identifier; and providing one or more particular handover thresholds to the particular user equipment.

    Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques for selecting network protocols using heatmaps. For instance, a system may receive radio frequency information from one or more sources located within an environment. The system may then generate heatmaps using the radio frequency information, where the heatmaps represent characteristics associated with different network protocols. The characteristics may include signal strengths, throughputs, data packet drop rates, data packet retry rates, and/or the like for various locations within the environment. A user device may then receive the heatmaps from the system. Using a location of the user device and the heatmaps, the user device may determine to communicate using a network protocol from the different network protocols. The user device may then establish a connection using the network protocol.

    Abstract: A Network Exposure Function (NEF) relays a trigger from a remote application function to a user device and causes the user device to switch between mutually exclusive network slices. The NEF stores a mapping associating device modes with network slices. The NEF also determines that a user device is operating in a first device mode using a first network slice. The NEF obtains a trigger from the remote application function identifying the user device and a second device mode. The NEF determines that the second device mode is associated with a second network slice that is mutually exclusive to the first network slice. The NEF provides a notification to the user device, causing the user device to end a first data session on the first network slice and to initiate a second data session on the second network slice.

The network function detects a configuration change to a wireless network system that affects multiple user sessions for multiple user devices.
