An example method generally includes determining a set of subframes corresponding to a paging occasion for the UE to receive a paging message from a base station (BS), determining, within the set of subframes, at least one narrowband region for receiving the paging message, and monitoring for the paging message in the at least one narrowband region within the set of subframes.

Abstract: A method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided that enable use of a full transmission power for a UE having a first set of coherent antenna ports that is non-coherent to a second set of coherent antenna ports. The apparatus determines a transmission power for a data transmission from the UE to a base station based at least in part on power control signaling from the base station, determines at least one antenna port having non-zero data for transmission, and determines a transmission power split for the at least one antenna port. Then, the apparatus transmits the data transmission from the at least one antenna port, wherein a combined transmission power from the at least one antenna port corresponds to the transmission power determined based at least in part on the power control signaled from the base station.

Abstract: Adjacent channel leakage-power ratio (ACLR) can be reduced at a transmitter of a device. A modulated signal can be mapped into a plurality of tone sets in a frequency domain, wherein the plurality of tone sets include a first, a second, and a third set of tones. The first and the third set of tones can be converted in the frequency domain to a fourth and a fifth set of tones, respectively, in a time domain. A zero padding of one or more symbols associated with the fourth and the fifth set of tones can be performed to output a sixth and a seventh set of tones, respectively. The sixth and the seventh set of tones can be converted to an eighth and a ninth set of tones, respectively, in the frequency domain. The eighth and the ninth set of tones can be processed for transmitting to another wireless device.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide various wireless communication numerology designs that can maintain symbol boundary alignment while multiplexing different numerologies in wireless communication. The symbols may be scaled for different tone or subcarrier spacings while maintaining the symbol boundary alignment between different numerologies. Maintaining the symbol-boundary alignment between different numerologies enables symbol-level numerology multiplexing. The disclosed numerology designs enable low latency communication and improved interference management, and provide non-ambiguous symbol boundary timing reference for multiplexing different numerologies.

Abstract: Processing relaxation for aperiodic channel state information (CSI) reference signal (CSI-RS) is discussed for networks that include full dimension multiple input, multiple output (FD-MIMO) operations. A user equipment (UE) operating in such a system monitors for the presence of aperiodic CSI-RS. When such aperiodic CSI-RS are detected, the UE may provide process relaxation in CSI reporting by transmitting aperiodic CSI reporting according to an uplink shared channel limitation, or by relaxing the processing of the aperiodic CSI reporting transmitted by the UE, or a combination of both.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide mechanisms for utilizing a single uplink grant to transmit scheduling requests (SRs) for two or more logical channels. A base station may allocate a separate grant of uplink resources for each SR opportunity (e.g., each logical channel for which a user equipment (UE) may transmit a SR to the base station). When the allocated uplink resources are within the same time period, the UE may select a subset of the SR opportunities for which to transmit a SR and partition the subset into one or more groups of SR opportunities. The UE may then generate one or more SR bits representing the one or more groups of SR opportunities and transmit the one or more SR bits on the single uplink grant.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for slot aggregation in new radio (NR) systems. A method of wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving radio resource control (RRC) signaling providing a semi-static configuration for transmission and/or reception of a repeated transport block (TB) and/or a different TB in each of a plurality of aggregated slots. The UE transmits or receives the TBs in the plurality of aggregated slots based on the semi-static configuration. Another method is provided in which the UE transmits and/or receives a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) in each of a plurality of aggregated slots, each DMRS associated with a repeated TB or a different TB in the slot. The UE determines, based on received signaling, whether the DMRS use a same precoder or a different precoder and modulates and/or demodulates the TBs in the plurality of aggregated slots based on the determination.
