Abstract: The present disclosure relates to exemplary embodiments of radar systems for providing increased robustness against radar interference transmissions and methods for controlling such radar systems. The radar system comprises at least one radar antenna configured at least for receiving a radar signal, a radar signal dividing means, a first receiver device and a second receiver device. The first receiver device is configured for monitoring a first frequency range and the second receiver device is configured for monitoring a second frequency range, wherein the second frequency range is wider than the first frequency range and the first frequency range is a subset of the second frequency range. The second receiver device is configured for measuring interference levels within the second frequency range. The present disclosure further relates to exemplary embodiments of methods for controlling the radar system, wherein the methods refer to measuring interference levels within the second frequency range, analysing measured interference levels, determining favourable frequency channels within the second frequency range in respect to interference level and possibly changing operating frequency channel in respect to measured interference levels.

Abstract: An airfoil article including a composite skin having a first surface and a second surface opposite first surface, forming a leading edge. The leading edge is during use subjected to an airflow meeting the leading edge at stagnation points. The leading edge includes an elongated member. The outer surface of the elongated member is arranged flush with the first surface of the composite skin such that an essentially smooth aerodynamic surface of the leading edge is formed. The elongated member is adapted to serve as an erosion protection of the leading edge and to function as an electrode of a plasma generating system.

Abstract: A de-icing arrangement and method for de-icing a structural element. The arrangement includes at least one electromagnetic actuator, a capacitive storage bank, a control unit arranged to provide an excitation pulse to the at least one electromagnetic actuator, and a charging circuit arranged to charge the capacitive storage bank. The at least one electromagnetic actuator is arranged to expand in at least one direction when fed with the excitation pulse. The at least one electromagnetic actuator is placed in relation to the structural element so as to apply a mechanical force caused by the expansion on the structural element. The capacitive storage bank includes a plurality of selectable capacitors of different size. The control unit is arranged to select at least one capacitor for charging having a size such that current discharge of the capacitive storage bank into the at least one electromagnetic actuator generates a desired distribution between heat and mechanical power.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an optical fibre sensor system (10) arranged to detect a temperature change in a zone (2, 3, 4) in an aircraft (1) having at least one zone (2, 3, 4). The optical fibre sensor system (10) comprises at least one optical fibre (11, 21, 31, 41) comprising a plurality of Fibre Bragg Gratings (20, 30, 40) for detecting a temperature change. Each of the Fibre Bragg Gratings (20, 30, 40) is reflecting radiation within a predetermined wavelength range. A radiation source unit (13) is arranged to emit radiation into the at least one optical fibre (11, 21, 31, 41). A radiation detector unit (14) is arranged to receive radiation from the at least one optical fibre (11, 21, 31, 41). A processing unit (15) is configured to identify a spectral response (22, 32, 42) of the received radiation and to determine a temperature change from the spectral response (22, 32, 42) of the received radiation in a predetermined wavelength range. Each of the at least one zone (2, 3, 4) solely has Fibre Bragg Gratings (20, 30, 40) which are reflecting radiation within the same predetermined wavelength range. The disclosure further relates to method for detecting a temperature change in a zone in an aircraft having at least one zone, by means of the optical fibre sensor system. Yet further the disclosure relates to an aircraft (1) comprising the optical fibre sensor system (10).
